Because he so totally blew his cred, people do tend to forget Peter Frampton has an impressive background as a musician. Post Humble Pie, his first solo LP 1971's excellent Wind of Change was recorded wile he was doing sessions for All Things Must Pass and features Ringo, Klaus Voorman, and Billy Preston. Frampton was recruited and personally rehearsed by George for the Concert for Bangla

As a veteran of many fantastic Hunter & Ronson and solo Hunter shows, I'd have to agree. This is essentially a Hunter/Rant Band show with a couple guest players. It was hard not to notice Bender was turned way down in the mix on the first round of shows and his lead parts doubled by Ian's excellent guitarist. But while some purists may say no Ralphs-Watts-Griffin-Allen is a deal ki

If it happens at all, the scope will be very limited. Unstoppable in their prime and creators of some of the best singles and LPs in the history of Britrock, the Kinks shot their bolt a long time ago. Pained me to see their last few albums fail to make the Top 100 (deservedly Im afraid for Think Visual and UK Jive, I know some here like Phobia) and the last couple tours drew embarrassing small

Somewhere in the mid-1990's on a reunion tour that had Traffic opening for The Grateful Dead- an amazing performance that shows plenty of gas left in the tank...sorry I passed on this tour when it came to the DC area.

After reading "Hellraiser" by Ginger Baker and seeing "Beware of Mr. Baker" I'd have to say he could eat all these other musician junkie rock star types alive- no posing or posturing or selling an image trying to come off as an outlaw- he is a nasty piece of work, old school and the real unsavory deal.

Stumbled on this today and thought it might amuse- perhaps you were there on Sept 7, 1974: Central Park NYC on this day in 1974. Joe Perry from Aerosmith:”We played the outdoor Schaefer Music Festival in Central Park, fifty thousand people strong, where Rory Gallagher opened for us. He was a hard-drinking Irishman with his own brand of blues rock that captivated the crowd... When he finally l

Got talked into going to a Robert Plant show 3 or 4 summers ago- didnt much care for his 80's output and hadnt kept up since then but figured what the heck, only $50. It was fantastic, no shrieking over-amplified warmed over Zeppelin moves (and only one song from the 80's). Lots of bluesy acoustic stuff with the Middle Eastern drone to it. He seemed relaxed happy and in very good voi
