Memo From Tina Turner
QuoteHis Majesty He was still quite involved up to and including spring 1968, albeit to a lesser degree than 1967 and I'd say with more battered health and musical abilities. The 21st of May 1968 is a notable date, his 2nd drugs bust, and then his summer of worry till the trial in September. A further decline occurs as witnessed in Rock & Roll Circus. You're right. He seemed t

QuoteHis Majesty Quotedmay Interesting part of the Stones history. What was McCartney doing in the studio? Did he play on TSMR? Yes. He plays either tambourine or congas on She's A Rainbow. Of the 2, it's most likely tambourine with Mick playing congas. I didn't know that. Cool.

Quotedmay Interesting part of the Stones history. What was McCartney doing in the studio? Did he play on TSMR? I don't think he played on the record. Probably just visited them during the sessions for the album.

QuoteTaylor1 It’s amazing how Brian was so involved in the music in 1967 , but a year later was not Yeah, that was probably the last time he was interested in contributing to the Stones' music.

This is really cool. A great time capsule of a very weird time in the Stones' career. I know many Stones fans don't like this album and even the Stones themselves dismiss it but I think it's a brilliant record. I've always loved it.

QuotePhil Good I don't know if my old memories are fooling me. But is it right that Keith supported or played a song with a band named Dice many years ago? If so, does anybody remember the name of that song, please? He seemed to love the Dirty Strangers though and guested on many songs from their album in the late 80s.

QuoteMisterDDDD Interesting.. thanks for posting. Liked the accompanying interview with Charlie much more. Love the "Between The Buttons" story.. Charlies misunderstanding results in the title. On people shouting "get your haircut" .. "you begin thinking that maybe you should get your hair cut. But then you don't because then your ears would stick out"

Quotethomashanck what is it for a show in 1969, between 2:30 and 2:45 ? I think that's from an american TV show called Music Scene. I used to have a bootleg DVD with Stones appearances on TV and I recall that was in there.

This is pretty cool. Some great singles that month and I didn't expect Mick Taylor to be such a big fan of Procol Harum.

From a 2016 Rolling Stone interview with Ronnie Spector- What was Jimi Hendrix like? He used to play in a small place downtown in the house band. I’d get up and sing – anything he would do on his guitar, I would repeat with my voice. He would say, “Boy, your voice sounds like a guitar.” I didn’t know my voice was supposedly that great because people didn’t tell you back then how great you wer

Quote24FPS Too bad he couldn't have done his experimentation with other instruments, AND continued evolving on guitar. I totally agree. He pretty much stopped caring about guitar around that time (66/67).

Another great video from the Yesterday's Papers youtube channel. From the video description: "A week after the release of the Rolling Stones' "Aftermath", Melody Maker asks Brian Jones about his opinions on Mick Jagger, sitars, marriage, Andrew Oldham or Charlie Watts, among many other topics. He is even asked about Barbara Streisand (?!?!)" Pretty interesting

QuoteMaindefender QuoteDGA35 Nice video, at 3:25 in the pic of the Ronettes on stage, you can see Jimi Hendrix on guitar. There was another thread a while back about who opened for who. I always assumed that the Stones were opening for the Ronettes, which Ronnie confirms. The Ronettes opened for the Beatles on their final US tour in 66. Phil was so jealous of Ronnie being around them that he

New video from this youtube channel called Yesterday's Papers. If you haven't checked it out, definitely do so. Some great Stones content there. Anyway, this is pretty interesting. The Stones played in Aylesbury without Brian. Was this the only time they ever played as a four-piece?

I had never heard this, pretty interesting. Great selection of songs and I'm amazed at how knowledgeable they were about all those artists, especially the blues guys from 1920's. It was probably not very easy to find information about those guys in the late 60s, early 70s. Keith seems to be a music encyclopedia. Mick: Keith, how old is Tracks of My Tears by Smokey Robinson? 5 y

I'm sure the sound on Ladies & Gentlemen could be improved. I think the Stones just didn't really care that much about it and they didn't bother trying to improve its sound. I've seen people on youtube posting songs from the show after tweaking the sound here and there and it sounded like the recording suddenly came to life. Almost like a new live recording.
