This quote from Keith says it all(before the bouts of revionism set in): "Brain could have easily joined another band, but he wanted to form his own. The Rollin' Stones were Brian's baby!" But really, I dont think the full truth can be known, they were too busy getting on with it to be taking notes.

Interesting views from Ian! Thing is, Brian's mellotron parts are amazing, he clearly 'clicked' with that instrument!

Playbacks sometimes had slightly different mixes, it could just be the sound via the video it's taken from though. I dont hear anthing 'extra' at all. This clip has been taken from the BBC2 Sound of the Sixties series that was first aired during the mid 90's. You can catch Donovan fading out right before Gimme Shelter begins.

Brian is playing vibraphone, Mick is sitting beside Jack Nitzsche who is playing harpsichord so it's likely to be Yesterdays Papers.

I was just being pedantic re alleged moog on Jigsaw Puzzle. I'm just 99% certain it's not a moog, there are so many clues which point to it being a woodwind instrument of some kind. ................................................................................. From what I know about Jimmy, he's kind of like an Atlantic Records type of producer, knows the technical stuff,

Jimmy Miller definitely knew his stuff and deserves a lot of credit. He was the perfect producer for the band, right time, right place. No moog on BB though.

There was something to prepare people for Beggars Banquet... The fantastic Jumpin' Jack Flash - Child of the Moon single! Child of the Moon being the bridge between TSMR and BB. I only wish they'd gotten Jimmy Miller onboard in time for TSMR, I'm sure he would have made that in to a psych classic with interesting production like Child of the Moon. Look what he did with

The Autumn 1966 footage from the Albert Hall shows the band played with a hectic pace in my eyes, no sign of letting up on the enrgy levels there! Going by the audio and the small visual clips from the 1967 tour, they were still as animated and energetic. Bill is his usual self of course, but Brian, understandibly, seems to be less than thrilled to be there.
