The name of that club in Santa Monica is the Joint. There is a regular Monday night show there, involving Waddy Wachtel, Bernard Fowler and other musicians. Keith popped up there around the time of the Willie Nelson & Friends show at the Wiltern, I believe, but that was not the first time that he played at the Joint. I understand that Neil Young showed up to perform there in mid-May.

Here is what I found at the above link: June 13, 2005 I had placed a Rolling Stones Abkco release up and should have gathered more moss, as it were. There is apparently some doubt as to the source information and so I am removing the info and chalking it up to rumour. If it ends up being so, well...but for now, let's pretend that you didn't see it. I apologize for any excitement

I haven't seen any posters in the street, but there have been print ads. Today's New York Times has a full-page ad for the Madison Square Garden show in September. And on the side of a building on the north side of Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, I recently saw a huge tongue with the words "Coming Soon" beneath.

L.A.'s station KCSN FM 88.5 has a Saturday night program called Stone City . . . it's wall-to-wall Stones, and commercial-free to boot. Anytime I hear a Stones song that is not commonly played on the radio, I get goosebumps. Tonight's selections that did that for me included Silver Train, You Got the Silver and Take It Or Leave It.

Does anyone out there happen to have a photo of Mick wearing a T-shirt from Syracuse? A friend said he gave a photo like this to me years ago. Now he wants it back so he can scan it for a CD cover. The photo I had was lost in a fire. If anyone can come to my aid, I would appreciate it.

A screening of Born to Boogie was held in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Rolan Bolan, Marc Bolan's son, was on hand and spoke briefly to the audience. Rolan is also a musician; he told me that he had a gig coming up in Long Beach. Born to Boogie is a terrific film, especially for people like me who never saw T Rex perform live or on film before. Both Elton John and Ringo perform a few num

Is the photographer for Black and Blue named Hiro? I think that is true, but if someone knows for sure, please post a confirmation. By the way, David Bailey's book Rock and Roll Heroes has some terrific outtakes of his sessions with the Stones, including Goats Head Soup and Jumpin' Jack Flash. It's an oversize, lavishly illustrated book --and pricey, but I scored one on eBay for

If the Stones covered I've Been Lonely for So Long, as suggested above, that would be a cover of a cover. Jagger included that song on Wandering Spirit.

I also was not able to get tickets at shortly after 10. But with just 16,000 seats at the Save Mart Center, even "nosebleed" seats have got to be pretty decent.

This isn't the most consequential topic on this board, but regarding the title of the new album, I hope . . . - That it's every bit as interesting as the title of the new White Stripes album, Get Behind Me Satan - That it's not going to be "Oh No Not Us Again" - That it will not be an alliterative title using the letter B (between Bridges to Babylon, Black and Blue,

I have a lot of affection for Hot Rocks, 1964-71. That was my first Stones album, and it certainly worked for me. It shows the evolution of the band better than any of the other collections. After that, it would make sense to pick up More Hot Rocks, and then Made in the Shade or Jump Back. By that point, you may want to go back and pick up each and every album, at least the studio albums. The

Thanks for the responses on my question about the IORR credits. Many of you are probably familiar with the Rhino remastered editions of Elvis Costello's albums. Each reissued album includes a booklet with reflections by EC of the recording sessions and other events, and a second disc includes outtakes, demos and live tracks. Wouldn't it be great if the Stones did something simil

This is hardly an urgent question, but can anyone explain the listing of the band members' names on the inner sleeve of It's Only Rock 'n Roll? The list is headed "Cast in order of appearance" and then names Keith, Mick T., Charlie, Mick J. and Bill, followed by a list of supporting players. The first track, If You Can't Rock Me, kicks off with drums. Charlie, of

I got an AIDS diagnosis in 1991, and at that time I thought that the Steel Wheels shows in 1989 would turn out to be my last Stones concerts, I was thrilled when the band toured the U.S. in 1994. Surely those shows would be my last, I thought. In 1996, I began a new medical regimen that brought my viral load to undetectable. Although I didn't expect my good health to last long, I was

For those not already familiar with the film, Ladies and Gentlemen the Rolling Stones is terrific. The original release in 1974 had 15 songs, from the shows in the American 1972 tour mentioned above. There are a few versions of the film on DVD, and I believe that the one issued by Four Reels is highly regarded. I'm holding out for an "official" DVD release --and hope I live long en

Well, maybe there are two oblique references to the Stones in American Pie (see below). Google "American Pie" and "lyric" for the complete song. Now for ten years we've been on our own And moss grows fat on a rollin stone But that's not how it used to be, When the jester sang for the king and queen In a coat he borrowed from James Dean And a voice that came

The band's extended "family" (Daryl, Blondie, Lisa, Chuck, Bernard, etc.) has been stable for several tours, and don't forget the longtime presence of Bobby Keys. I don't see them jeopardizing with their success by bringing in new players and shooing others out the door. But for many fans, our eyes are riveted to Charlie, Mick, Keith and Ron, anyhow.

What's the text on Jagger's shirt? The last line looks backward. I know that this isn't exactly an urgent issue, but when I saw it in print recently I thought that the publication had "flopped" the photo (printed a mirror image).

I scored a ticket to the Wiltern performance in 2002, along with many other fans who started to line up at sunrise that day. The box office began to sell tickets after Solomon Burke's performance began, which meant that many fans stood (or sat, or slept) in line up to 15 hours. But the point is that I saw the Stones in a theater, and paid face value for the ticket ($50). My seat was in the m

Just for the record, JJFlash, Billy Preston is not in the pokey. This is from his official website: "In recent years Billy Preston was the first black musical director of a late night television show "Nightlife" starring David Brenner, was a regular on the UPN series "Good News" and he made a cameo appearance in "Blues Brothers 2000" as part of the super grou

For a few weeks, I have not been able to visit rollingstones.com. When I try to access the site, I see a line at the top pf the page that says "preloading 0%" and it never progresses beyond this point. Is anyone else having the same problem? Any advice? Are the site owners charging people $100 to even look at their content? Internet Explorer is my browser and I have a DSl connection.

I don't have an American Express card. I don't have ANY credit cards. So wouldn't it be nice if once --just once-- a band gave fans with no credit cards ticket-buying privileges? Please, AmEx cardholders, don't buy every seat in Angel Stadium. Leave at least one for me to buy after the presale ends.
