I'm generally surprised by how many folks took away points from Between the Buttons. I find it to be one of their better early albums. I'd take the UK of that over the UK of Aftermath anyday!

I looked at Tix for GNR at Saratoga, but I am going to hold out and see if LiveNation does their annual $25 sale. If so, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is one of the shows they offer, then I'll just plan on getting there super early so we can get seats near the actual seats and see the stage. Gotta budget accordingly here - RHCP, Bruce, GNR, (got verified for Beyonce but was N

QuoteHairball Quoteslewan QuoteHairball No offense to Ronnie, but his songwriting capability and musical ideas in general leaves a bit to be desired imo. Sure there are a few gems throughout the decades ( with the Faces, the Stones, and solo), but those gems are very few and far between. His main focus since quitting drugs and alcohol a decade or so ago has been painting and his art career, tho

I’d like to catch P!nk. Think she’d be a good show but no one wants to go and I just don’t feel like going alone to that one.

Quotesdstonesguy I mean it was $45 to get front row in 1997 at Dodger Stadium...us richies roll like that. It cost me $79 for Ronnie’s side opposite end zone to the left at Foxboro in ‘97 for my first show. And it was a life altering experience. By your account I didn’t have that experience and never went to see them in ‘99 when I was 3rd row behind stage - does that count or still not close en

Quotesdstonesguy Is it really fair to count if you did not have at least decent seats? Like at least floor B-stage and closer if in a stadium. For arenas I am thinking floor or just off the floor. These seats at MSG or the Forum is still tits (even if disappointing to a snob like me). There is a big difference between grabbing a ticket just to go...and those who go to see the Stones.

Got tix for Bruce in Syracuse. Not bad at all really. A little over $100/ticket. Wish they were all that reasonable!!! Looking at GNR in Hershey and it'd be something similar.

QuoteDoxa The Guardian article is interesting because it it asks from a Stones representative to confirm (or not) the rumours. The source states two things: Firstly, the headlines news about the Beatles connection: Macca will play bass on one new song. Ringo is not involved (Ringo was a fake news, that is). Secondly, and more importantly for those who are eagerly following the developme

QuoteNashvilleBlues QuoteMisterDDDD One song with both Paul and Ringo would/would have been historic and very cool depending on the song I suppose. Still kinda cool to have Paul sit in on bass, but a shame if that's it after all the buzz and speculation. Was in attendance for the Stones cover of Come Together at DT. While it didn't err.. come together very well live on that attempt

Quoteschwonek The tour is the boss: In 2005 it was like this: Aug 21 : Tour start Sep 6 : Release of ABB So why not start the tour in August 2023 and release whenever they feel like it. Well because whenever they feel like it might be another 18 years, and we've already lost one crucial band member whilst waiting around......

Quotesyrel QuoteDandelionPowderman Does it? That's not the way I read Bjørnulf's post. «The tour is the boss» could mean that the album won't come out weeks or months before the tour, but round the time the tour starts. Yeah, I think the way to think of it is: originally - the album is ready, the tour will be scheduled for when the album can be released now - the tour has t

As I just posted on the GNR thread, Guns n Roses just announced a world tour for this year, with US dates in the Fall including Fenway and Wrigley. If there is a shortage of crew available, I wonder how this will now impact the Stones' plans with GNR, Bruce, and many others on tour as well......

Had a chance to listen to this one over the weekend. I agree with the person who said that all of the guests detract from the flow of the show. I can completely understand what that poster meant, and I tend to agree. There are some botched notes as well - most notably at the beginning of PIB. Not really sure what they were starting up there. Was almost as if they were tuning guitars more tha

QuoteIrix QuoteVoodooLounge13 So it’s actually cheaper to order the red vinyl with the litho than to order the red vinyl by itself!?! It's just with US-$: 79.99 LP-only vs. 78.99 LP+Setlist. In EUR or GBP it's €59.99 vs. €75.99 or £54.99 vs. £64.99. Interesting how that price varies depending on location.

Now see I have a completely opposite view of B&L and think it sounds forced and far too compressed. It sounds like a bunch of old guys trying to play the blues. It doesn’t feel loose at all to me. But hey to each their own. Most on here love it. I rarely ever listen to it. For me they’re far looser on all the b-sides Mick cranks out in 5 minutes. But I do definitely agree and hope that th

Quotelem motlow Take it from someone who waited twenty three years to see them play Memory Motel, the last time they didn’t start a tour with a new album in the States was 1976. That’s not really true at all. Licks, Zip Code, No Filter. Plenty of tours have happened without a new album behind it.

Quotesf37 Quotelem motlow By releasing the new Stones album in 2023 they will have surpassed the Chinese Democracy threshold of 17 years between albums of new material. The last Stones release being in 2005, 18 years ago. Though both bands released records in the meantime,The Dogshit Incident and Blew and Loathsome, they were covers albums. So the Stones win. They actually wasted more time than

And I’m always amazed by those who can see all the shows on a tour and buy everything. I wonder what it is that those folks do for a living that they can afford such luxuries but I don’t begrudge anyone what they do in life. Happy for those that can do it. Before my first divorce, I followed the band around on the ABB tour and that’s how my show count really is what it is these days. I saw 7 show
