I to went to the local Tower here in Irvine during their blow out. Found some stuff I'd never consider buying but the price was too cheap. Other than 'mom & pop' used record stores, there's really no place to brows Forum: Tell Me
Here's a question for all you collectors. Are there any counterfeit Stones sleeves? I've been told that the US "The Last Time" sleeve with the black border is a fake. Also, the US promo "Before They Make Me Run" has also been counterfeited. The way to tell is to check Keith's eyes. It's all black on the fakes. Has "Beast of Burden" or "S Forum: Tell Me
There were many concert/music laserdisc's released in Japan that have never been rereleased on dvd. Most notably Grand Funk Railroad, Live At The L.A. Forum 1974. To all you out there whining the Pistols have 'sold out', 'true punks don't do 5 reunion tours' and 'only The Clash were true punks', give me a break. It's always been about the money. If it wasn't about 'THE MONEY', why did The Clash sign to CBS, a major corperation. Any 'artiste' who says 'it's not about the money Forum: Tell Me
Here in SoCal try Amoeba Records on Sunset Blvd. The place is HUGE. Constantly rotating stock, a huge used section, collectables and such. Since it's in Hollywood prices can be high, but they get industry people trading their stuff in all the time so you'll never know what you'll find. Plan 3-4 hours minimum there. There's also a wealth of shops in Hollywood that deal in ju Forum: Tell Me

I totally disagree 'stonesrule'. As established artists, both have vast catalogs to pull from, one takes the easy route while the other pushes the boundaries. After seeing my third show on this last tour it Forum: Tell Me
I've thought about this for two nights and had to post.
Neil and The Stones are the only two artist's I make an effort to see multiple times. When I see The Stones I go "That was great". BUT, whenever I see Neil I go "Go My God. That was incredible!". I never know what I'm going to see with Neil. When I go to the Stones, I know I'm gonna see a greates Forum: Tell Me

Maybe there's NO Stones tribute band worth watching but the Australian Pink Floyd Show is really, really scary. These guys got it down pat. It's been reported Pink Floyd even allows them to use their stage setup. Roger Waters mu Forum: Tell Me
Thanks sssoul for the youtube link. I read about it on the Daily Mail web site. Stupid me for believing a dumb UK tabloid website. He's 100% Keith. Couldn't ask for better. I hang my head in shame. 1oo lashes with a guitar strap. CindyC, would you do the honours? Harder baby, harder!!

I'm suprised no one has started this thread. Keith got an award for best cameo or something like that for Pirates and gave a 'slightly' incoherent pretaped acceptance speech. I don't have a link. Hopefully someone can post it.

Got up this morning and the wind has shifted. Yesterday (Tuesday) it was quite clear. But, driving to work today, there is this haze going all the way to the ground because of the wind shift. As the sun came up, the sky was a sickly orange/brown. It's been like that all day. Driving home the sky looks like something from one of those bad post nuclear war movies. So I'm sittin' there watching the news coverage drinkin' a bottle of wine and they come on and say there's a fire in Irvine. I go out my front door and the sky is orange and red, with a huge column of black smoke. The fires in the hills about 3 miles from me. Quite spectacular. The winds are howling. The ash starts falling like snow about 15 min later. Gotta close all my Forum: Tell Me

I knew Bryan Ferry would be on the list. I always thought Ferry and Robert Palmer should have toured together and called it the "Best Dressed" tour.

Even though I disagree with Bush on Iraq, I feel it is in poor taste to bad mouth your government on foreign soil. It's a cheap way of getting publicity. I would feel just as uncomfortable if a UK artist came here to the US and bad mouthed the current Brown/New Labour administration. It shows a lack of class.

Blondie played with Johansen. Maybe he's part of the backing band and they're counting on his Stones connection to increase ticket sales.

I liked to go on Springsteen, U2 and Jimmy Buffet sites and poke fun at the artists. The Bruce and U2 fans have zero sense of humor. Got banned from a Buffet site years ago. The Parrotheads show up at a local bar here whenever Jimmy plays Irvine Meadows. I purposely wear a Stones t-shirt when they come. They really think Jimmys a better song writer than Mick & Keith.
