An unlikely pair? Not at all. They have known each other for nearly 50 years, come from not dis-similar musical backgrounds, have been in on of the best bands of all time and come from the same city and cultural. Their guitar styles are different of course, but it is that difference that would would make them a good musical pair, much in the same way Mick and Keith were back in the day...

Well, I'm old enough to have learned songs by repeatedly dropping the needle at the beginning of a track over and over again until I had it down. Later of course I did something similar with CDs. Howled, isn't the point that good music is available? It doesn't matter if there are no "big movements" in pop/rock or that "it's been stagnant for ages" as you put it. The music is there for those who want to listen to it. And if that means you have to get up and look for it rather than have it presented to you via mass media outlets then so be it.

I've said this before but it bears repeating. If you are serious musician, the best thing you can do is to figure a song out by ear before resorting to tabs, video lessons and the like. If you are not serious well, have at it!
