You can watch it from outside the UK by using some programm to mask your proxy. I found one in the Glastonbury thread, installed it as a firefox add-on and haven't had any problems using the BBC iplayer ever since.
Very often when I'm watching the BBC I come to think: what a great tv station that BBC is!
