The sound of quiet. Sometimes, balm to the ears.

They are a great band. Makes you realize how much the Stones could shake up their setlist and play songs that rock and are different from what we've all come to expect. At this point in time what have they got to lose?

Fascinating. So much to be read in the tea leaves. I look at how Keith is stand offish when he first makes the scene, the Rolls Royce (I believe) delivery - signifying rock'n'roll royalty, the wonder of "Are they looking at the idea they are still tough young Turks getting set to p*ss in an alley?." I think they need to look at Neil and make it low key and real. There are many

There's a message for the Stones in Neil's set list for his current shows.

40 Licks, heh? Oh my. Funny how a few lines from Stones songs came immediately to mind: "What a drag it is getting old" followed by "Who wants yesterday's papers?" I am sure my great grandchildren's children will enjoy the new Stones album when its released.

Shadow Kingdom is such a good reworking of Dylan music and a great watch. The Stones could re-imagine their songs and set the showcase gig in a smoky old blues bar. Dig this reworking of a Stones warhorse by Junior Wells as an example of what the Stones could do.

Willie Nelson and Richard Pryor. Who in the hell knew this existed. It's just cool...a younger Willie and Rastaman Pryor. Enjoy.

Wow! This is something to listen to. My favorite style of soul music. Some of you may also be into the Memphis/southern soul groove, so that's why I'm posting. There's a load of cuts from this album on utoob in case any of y'all want to sample. Enjoy.

Pithy commentary on each, but interesting read regarding music rulers. Wonder who else would make this list. Puts me in mind of a George Jones song regarding the same idea - Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes.

What a nice read on the late Willy DeVille. Such an overlooked artist. Dime has a number of live stuff by him if I remember right. His music is well worth diving into. Enjoy the swim.

Regarding the reference by Doxa to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", it's considered one of the best Western movies ever made, up there with "The Searchers" and "The Wild Bunch". I've watched these three many a time. A somewhat overlooked film of Sergio Leone's Westerns is "Once Upon A Time In The West".

Here's a link I sent to a friend of mine who's a hard core Grateful Dead fan related to Taylor Swift as the new Grateful Dead. He said he understood. The Dead became a brand. I have, from those olden days of cubicle life, a couple of Jerry Garcia ties still hanging in the closet.

Really? Oh, man...sigh. Had a Keurig. Not a great coffee maker even with grinding my own beans and the fill it yourself K basket, whatever it's called. It died never to be considered again. Am now using the pour over Chemex coffee maker. Fresh ground beans, hot water poured over same and a smooth cup of java. Recommend getting the permanent filter basket. And this is not a paid ad.

Wow! Burton's been there. Go back and check out the early recordings of Ricky Nelson. Some great playing on them by Burton. He's also on Gram Parson's Grievous Angel album and some early Emmylou Harris if I remember right. Proud to say I own one of his James Burton standard telecasters. It's my primary electric guitar named The Black Pearl by my daughter because of its color.

While riding along the musical roads I came across this. No idea if it's been here before, but here it is. I swear that sometime during the song they swap their bodies back and forth they're so similar.

What a great interview with Mister Schwarzenegger. I've enjoyed a number of his movies, Terminator and T2 faves, along with Total Recall. Pumping Iron is still a great watch. Many of us were fans. Your choices will vary. Still think Conan The Barbarian is one of the worst movies ever made. The American Library Association poster they did featuring him as Conan The Librarian was and is still

I've already made arrangements with my almost middle aged son to present the new Stones album as a gift and remembrance to his children of their grandfather. He can explain how much I dug the band but I was ultimately Out Of Time.

Has anybody else seen the clips of Ronnie and others at the Jeff Beck tribute at Royal Albert Hall this month? He's on fire, IMHO. Ronnie made me think how the Stones could spark themselves and their audience by covering various soul, r&b and other songs during their shows. I pictured Mick singing, along with a subtle backup, People Get Ready. Would love to see the Stones once again rock

Wow. What a day. One icon celebrates a birthday, another passes. Like Cindy C, I got into the Ike & Tina revue stuff, preferring it to her later stuff. RIP Miss Tina.

Did I miss his name? Tom Jones should be on this list of aging music stars. He's still cuttin' it. Check out his gig at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville earlier this month. It's up on Dime.

John Barleycorn Must Die is my favorite Traffic song. Lots of cover versions but the original is still best. My favorite Winwood song is Can't Find My Way Home. Back in the day there were a number of days when I could say that. May he rock on.

So, World On Fire, hmm...opening song for a new James Bond movie? Closing song for a Conan The Barbarian or Marvel movie? A song for apocalyptic dystopian times? A call to arms? Something you've heard once and perhaps enough? It makes you wonder.

Free Bird? God how I hate this song. There's a few others on the list also equally hated. I agree, this is an album you'll play once or twice and let it be, no pun intended regarding the song list.

One of my fave performers. He was rock'n'roll. I remember my son as a toddler and around 5 or 6 years old still dancing to Little Richard's hits album along with jumpin' up and down on the couch to the hits. I daresay Little Richard laid the foundation for Chuck B and others.
