"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly."
Went to see Tina on her final tour opener, Kansas City in 2008. From row 3. She was all over the place, belting out every number with force, keeping pace w/ young dancers. A fascinating person & life. '08 seems like yesterday; amazing how quickly we slip into old age and bow out.
Truly truly sad to hear that she passed away. I'm a huge Ike & Tina Revue fan. Her later stuff wasn't to my taste as much, but when they were together, MAN, she was a volcano!
Rest in peace sweet Tina. Punch Ike in the mouth for me.
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
Wow. What a day. One icon celebrates a birthday, another passes. Like Cindy C, I got into the Ike & Tina revue stuff, preferring it to her later stuff. RIP Miss Tina.
