Agree with most on here. Playing in open G isn't that different to regular tuning .... its HOW you play that counts. The man misses the point.

I read the article in The Guardian about Superheavy .... the reader's comments are hilarious, here's some samples ...... I AM SHAKING WITH RAGE Sounds like another version of "Dirty Mac" from the Stones' Rock and Roll Circus. Which was alright until Yoko joined in. So from now until it comes out its a Super Heavy Wait. If you want something bringing to its knees,

Dear Mick, perhaps in your forthcoming book you could enlighten us as to why, in those crazy years with The Stones, making some of the best, most exciting music the world has ever heard, you failed to crack a smile more than 3 times a year. Ta. A fan xx

I love Lucinda Williams. But she is a great Country/Americana artist stuck inside a rock n roll band. The minute the drummer switches to playing brushes, the pedal-steel player and fiddle-player turn up and the guitarist gets an acoustic or mandolin out, thats when she'll realise her potential.

In your autobiography Stone Alone you stated that at the end of June 1965 you had precisely £6 and one shilling in your bank account. But had you taken into account the two-and-six you spent on a pack of Rothmans on the last Tueday of that month?

Well I think 24PS sums it up perfectly. ER proves what a great band they are in that they'll try stuff no other rock band would even dream of doing. Could you imagine Lynyrd Skynrd, Aerosmith or Springsteen coming up with something like ER or Miss You or Undercover? The Stones swing, thay always have done and that's what seperates and elevates them from the rest.

Isn't it a pedal-steel that Wayne Perkins uses on the solo?

“What can he do there that we can’t do here?” asked Richards, dropping to do five quick one-arm push-ups, the tip of his cigarette burning a kind of signature into the carpet." One-arm push-ups? Fantastic. Couldn't he work that into the live show?

Every Epiphone Les Paul I've played (5 or 6) have been absolute rubbish. But teh real thing costs three to four times as much. I used to own a Washburn Les Paul from the early 90's which was amazing, far better than The Epihones.

I probably can't be bothered with the mods! I really like the clean sound though. And I'm just hoping to get a decent pedal for some crunch. Yes, I'm playing in a band.

I've had my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for about a year but haven't played it much because I've been using my acoustic guitar. I gave it a blast with a band last night and I'm not happy at all with the amp's overdrive circuit. Its just horrible and muddy.(I'm using an old Washnurn with humbuckers by the way. It sounds like an SG) The clean channel will only break-up when

Well said Keefriffhard. It can also be said that he revitalised black music at a time when it was all about Luther Vandross and George Benson and er MC Hammer. His best songs have stood the test of time and are stone classics.

Reading that Led Zep thread about their plagarism got me to thinking about that reggae musician who tried (and failed I think) to sue Mick for nicking Just Another Night off him. Does anyone have any info and a link to the "original" track?
