I agree the day of a "Rock movie" doing any business is long past. That said, in '03 when Zeppelin released Led Zeppelin DVD they had a one time only showing at select theaters in Manhattan. It was about 90 minutes or so of the DVD and the theaters that showed it had 2 shows something like 7:30 and 10:00. Anyway, I strolled up to one of the theaters at about 7:15 and........SO

That is interesting about Blushing Brides. Saw them once, in the '80s at Great Adventure in NJ, of all places. It was actually kind of cool. Blushing Brides played about a set and then they showed Ladies and Gentlemen on a HUGE screen. It was the first time I saw the movie and it solidified Mick Taylor as one of my all-time guitar gods. Blushing Brides, I remember being very very good and

Very good point about the drummer following the guitar player. The worst is bands that play the open G songs in std tuning. Used to be a Canadian band called Blushing Brides that was very good. This was yrs ago.

I have Lacerated, which I am positive is from the original King Biscuit Four Hour broadcast---the reason their is no Star Star and the reason there is a couple of edits on Mick's Profanity. Funnily enough, they missed others, most notably a very clear one at the end of Brown Sugar.

Thank you Mathijs--always wanted to know precisely how that worked--makes total sense. And,I agree, the guitar tones on the '78 tour were the best. One of the reasons I much prefer '78 to '81, cause the guitar sounds are pretty different---too much effects in '81, less crunch, not as aggressive a sound. Have a friend who has a Fender Bassman amp that he bought at a garag

Question, Mathijs--when you say "slaved" through another amp, what does that mean--is one amp running as a sort of pre-amp to another or is it something else? Always wondered about this... Was the Ampeg SVT a bass amp?

That sounds about right--certainly Keith used Boogies in the late seventies. Listened to Handsome Girls last nite--the tone on that boot is just about the coolest guitar tone ever. Slightly overdriven, great sustain, but still clean enough to hear individual notes. I agree with the person in a different post who wrote that they preferred the sound in '72 to the sound in '73.

I am not sure it was the touring as much as the flying associated with touring. His current tours, I am guessing, do not involve any flying. The band however, has simply not sounded the same since he left and the change is not for the better.

There is also a song on here, which I consider one of the GREATEST boots ever that is clearly from NY. Love this one--heavy rotation kind of disc.

This is truly great news---new '78--very nice to come from after a long day. 2 questions from reading this thread: How was it determined what songs on Handsome Girls came from which shows? Does the cover specify--mine did not. I mean some are obvious--Just My Imagination is from Detroit and Honky Tonk Women sure seems like it is from Memphis. And, Gazza--when you say Out On Bail is

Gee Nik, I didn't see that movie, but I did read the book and I am having a difficult time recalling any tear-inducing moments. I did think the book was pretty funny in a "chick-lit" kind of way. As for the lyrics--I was thinking Some Girls era--though I thought the lyrics for Undercover were pretty cool.

Mongoose--according to "Led Zeppelin--A Concert File" The show preceeding Greensboro (St Louis) was cancelled due to Plant having the flu. The band which was renting the "Starship" on a daily basis decided to fly to LA and drink while Plant stayed behind due to illness. According to this book (I have never heard this show) the concert suffered b/c Page, JPJ and especially B

I suppose that's possible, who knows? I did read where Page was asked what he would say if Plant called him up and told him that he was interested in a Zeppelin reunion. Page's response...."Are you sure you have the right number?"

Absolutely---any Stones fan worth their salt, would not be deterred from getting an official release simply because they had the boot---Page has always cited to that when discussing Zeppelin fans who had boots of things that were later made into "official" releases. (in their case BBC and How The West Was Won). You buy it because, you are a fan, want the upgrade in quality and/or are
