I am very chilled, in fact I am freezing my butt off here in NY. LOL Sorry if my post(s) read differently. I give credit proportionate to what I think is warranted. Certainly others view things differently--that is what makes these discussions interesting. My objection was to the "doubter" comment. That is where we differ. I "compare" because that is my source

To each his/her own. I choose not to buy into the fiction that his playing is what it once was. It is hard NOT to compare when you spend as much time listening to various performances as many of the people here do. You started this post by saying "Ronnie doubters". I am not a "doubter" because there is nothing to "doubt". His playing, simply stated, is no

I give anyone who overcomes addctions all the credit in the world--it very well may have saved his life. His playing on Happy was very good--I did think that was his standout moment. As for YCAGWYW---just place tonite's performance in juxtapsition with the Love You Live version. There is no comparison--not even close. On the other hand--I think Mick is as good and possibly better

Have to agree---just too big a crowd to start diving into the songbook. I thought Wild Horses was nice. Have they played that alot on this tour? I do not remember seeing it on any setlist.

It was a good solo. That having ben said, I do not "doubt Ronnie" it, quite simply is that my ears do not lie to me. I have no desire to bash him, but to deny that his playing has not declined preciptously is delusional. I am not comparing him to MT (who, he could never touch) but rather to his own playing circa '75-'78.

Hey Christian---good for you. I think it is cool that you give it a good try. I (and many others) struggle with English! Music is a universal language--keep rocking out.

The Anthology and London Singles books are pretty common and your local music store should have them. I got the Exile book yrs ago and have not seen that one as much--since your post I also recall there being a Some Girls book--I had it and can't find it (Damn!). It was also pretty good though I recall disagreeing with "Beast of Burden". (Maybe I am the one who is wrong) Ano

Actually, the Stones catalogue is really under-represented. That having been said there are some good ones out there. The Exile book is excellent and gets the G tunings and capo placements right. The "Guitar anthology" which covers the '72-83 era is also quite good. Finally, the "London Years" book which covers the the 3 cd set is real good for the older stuff, and if I a

He has not been in NY in over 20 yrs but he has been in Ct since around '85, which is why I could see Hartford being "home". As I understand it he has a place in Paris but is hardly ever there so that is a tougher sell. Never saw the Stones in another country--concept sure sounds cool. I was comparing MSG to the other places I saw them--Philly and NJ. Having listened to

Well, he lives in Ct so I will give him Hartford and London is obvious. Paris, hmmm............... At the risk of being either biased and/or naive I believe that there is something special about MSG. Have seen them 8 times, 3 times at MSG and there is a different vibe about MSG.

I thought it was excellent--it was true RnR, which means there will be missed notes and other imperfections. It's funny everything I read in the press and AOL (what a joke they are) trashes the performance but then when I speak to people on an individual basis the feedback is invariably positive. I totally agree with those who say the "knocks" are in large part because it

We, NYers are definitely blessed that the Stones give us all these great treats. Plus, we get name checked all the time--actually we got almost an entire record when they did Some Girls. NY to the Stones are what LA was to Zeppelin. Was at MSG on 1/18, loved it when Keith said "This is as close to home as you can get." My vocal cords have still not recovered.

Flatbed cruising down 5th Ave (as a NYer love that all the promos, save '81, are done here) is one of the coolest moments in RnR history. Just a great great way to announce a tour. Also, love Ronnie's painting of that--really really awesome. Ps On a personal note, May '02, I was flying down the Saw Mill Parkway in Westchester at about 9:30 in the morning, I look up and see

Never heard this one until I picked up the London Singles collection. While the mid-sixties is far from my favorite period, I really like this one and Sad Day. I think both those tunes hold up really well. That having been said they were really a very different band back then, very commercial and clearly a "singles" band.

I love this tune---completely agree that it sounds like INXS and the guitar tone is definitely Undercover. Love Charlie's drums.

Awesome tune with some really great steel guitar courtesy of Ronnie. Have to believe that the "Giants" reference was to the football Giants. Mick was living in NYC at the time and the rest of the song sounds like it is referring to things that were current at the time. Also, as Mick stated in his NFL interview, he followed the NFL during the mid to late '70's. Just m
