Quotestonesnow Billy Idol never opened for the Who. Maybe, but he played with them during the '89 Tour. He was cousin Kevin in Tommy at LA & London.

QuoteGravityBoy I don't ever think of Billy Idol as a real punk for some reason. He was in the Bromley Contingent, no ? So he was one of the early punks, those who followed the Pistols at the very beginning. I don't think we should think of punk as a person but what punk has set us free, Yes, ELP, and others. They gave new blood to music. How many have become musician after seeing

Quoterebelrebel This thread reminded me to listen to the Bollocks again for the first time in years. Still as great as ever, I think it's timeless. "New York" is my favourite track; I've always thought it was a homage to the Dolls. Guitar is pure Johnny Thunders. It's about the Dolls, sure. McLaren was their manager, at the end. But i'm not very sure it's an

Blondie played Start Me Up live. There's a lot of videos on YouTube about artist covering the Stones. But there is one thing you can't find : The Pogues with Joey Ramone playing Honky Tonk Woman live. It was in Bourges, France. Believe me, i was there. If someone have it, please, put it anywhere. I remember a boy next me asking me : 'What is this song ? I don't know it !

I always see the Stones in Paris Urban Jungle, the first time i saw the Stones live. Great moment. Start me Up is my best moment : Yes, they are here. Voodoo Lounge, well, not on my memory. Bridges To Babylon, welcome to the b-stage. I was just in front of them. But for me, the Licks Tour is better than the previous three.

Quotekowalski Quotecrumbling_mice The general feeling seems to be LA, is this leaked or just wishful thinking on some people's parts? This cover artwork has been posted on a Japanese website last week: I think it's a fake. But maybe i'm wrong. But it's on the lettering : there is something wrong. I bet on a Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour (Atlantic City, Wembley) o

If you have the Sex Box 1 & Spunk, you've got almost everything. The rest are live recordings & the Swindle tracks where Rotten doesn't sing. The last concert (before reunion) in the Winterland '78 is a must have from the live recordings. 'The Filth and the Fury' DVD is another must have. And, about DVD, the last one, 'There'll Always Be An Engl

I know the Gimme Shelter Video from No Security. I remember that there is no Stones picture on it. It's the story about 2 young boys leaving home. I think you can find it on YouTube.

QuoteDoc As I mentionned it in another thread, the DVD will include 3 live songs from the Live in Texas DVD : Beast Of Burden, Honky Tonk Women and Shattered. Doc, have you got an idea of the contents of the DVD? I thought, wrongly, that it was the DVD "Some Girls In Texas".

QuoteStoneage Being a 81/82 "nerd" a funked up Hampton-DVD (with 5.1 and all the other technical improvements available today) would be on my wishlist. Add a complete "Still Life" with all the songs missing on the original 1-LP and some "Tattoo You" leftovers (if there were any...). And add a nice booklet and some "Tattoo You" graphics material on that and

QuoteVocalion Blinded by Love Chris Jagger doesn't sing with the Stones. He is mentioned as "Literary Editor" for Blinded By Love & Almost Hear You Sigh. But, if my memory is good, i remember that Mick Jagger sang on one of the 2 first albums of Chris Jagger. I think that it's on the first one, You know the name but not the face. And they make a duo on DJ Blues, on

The best of pop music, the best genius Brian, but not the best. I think Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers & Exile are greatest. One of my favorites, the first I ever heard (and I'm only 44 ). And I'm agree with Come On & Rockman, the UK version is better than the US.

The Pogues & The Ramones, in Bourges (1992). The Ramones do the first part. At the end of the Pogues set, Joey Ramone came on stage to sing Honky Tonk Woman. And a bloody @#$%& young man came across me and ask : 'I don't know this song. Where does it come from ?' He's still waiting the answer .... But what a night.
