Funny thing is, I'm biased towards the East Coast stuff as well! Although, The Chronic is pretty relentless. "Lil Ghetto Boy" is really the "What's Going On" of the rap generation. Plus remember, that album was the first with all the guest MCs and the interludes. Not to mention a chick rapper, which was pretty novel at the time (and a huge risk). Album has a great

I am a huge Stones fan, and even I believe that Paul's Boutique (Beastie Boys) is the greatest album of all time. Looks like you're missing Dr. Dre - The Chronic though . . .

I was actually at the concert, and they recreated the song incredibly! The drummer used a vacuum to recreate the sounds, and the other members did the vocals (number 9, number 9). It was o

You should definitely check it out. They jam it out. I had always hoped they would play a Stones album (Exile) for Halloween. For those who don't know, Phish played another bands album as the second set of their three set halloween show (as a "musical costume"). During past Halloweens, they played (by fans votes and their own personal choice): -The Beatles - The Beatles (W

Became one of their concert staples. Sounds amazing. They also covered Emotional Rescue. Funny they play songs that the Stones themselves rarely play! One of the best bands ever. So sad they're no more. If you have never experienced them live, pick up the live disc from 4/3/98. Killer Loving Cup in the second set!

I never really understood or cared much for U2. (Although Achtung Baby is a classic). I always much prefered R.E.M. for better albums, more organic music, less pomp and circumstance. I married a U2 girl and have seen them twice. I must say, that they put on one hell of a show. The Edge is one of the most unique and underrated guitarists of the last 25 years. And what band has done more with le

Well, good thing you can choose not to be a U2 fan. Because if you were a U2 fan, you probably would not "hate it". It's actually a nice way to pay homage to a song, an artist or a quote that resonates with the band. Bono just sand a verse from the song. U2 fans call it a "snippet". They do about a dozen during their shows, usually at the end of songs. They don't perform the music, and Bono usually just rattles off a random lyric. Nothing special. You probably wouldn't even have noticed it if you were there.

Relax dude. I know they played Sway, cause I was there. I was asking if they were to play one major rarity for the remainder of the tour, what would you hope to hear. Not much fun speculating on what they already played, is it? Some people really need to just relax and enjoy talking about the stones.

R.E.M. is one of the most significant bands of the last 25 years, and certainly one of the greatest American Rock & Roll bands ever. If you only know them from their post Out Of Time days, it would serve you greatly to listen to: Fables Of The Reconstruction Murmur Lifes Rich Pageant Green Document Reckoning

Sidebar to Creedencelives: I agree that his albums are epic in scope - with the track lists occasionally suffering from length. But in my opinion, 4 of the 5 greatest albums ever made were double albums: Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street The Clash - London Calling Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik I do agree that By The Way sho

Rick Rubin produced Mick's solo album "Wandering Spirit". Apparently they clashed on a lot of things. Yes, Rick is amazing - if you haven't heard Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you are missing one of the finest albums of that decade (and possibly of all time). Stones fans will love it.

First off, I think the Stones are the greatest! That being said, I had my first opportunity to see the band during their Forty Licks tour in 2002. Amazingly, I was lucky enough to score tickets to the Roseland gig in NYC. It was one of the most amazing concert experiences of my life, being a stone's throw from Mick in a room of less than 3000. (Having seen 63 Phish shows, and 20 Dead show
