Interesting comment from Keef in the new Q music mag. In an interview, he says if he could bring anyone back from the dead, it would be Stu for guidance and inspiration. When asked if he would bring back Brian Jones, Keef said "No, I wouldn't want to bring him back. He was a real @#$%& !".

I've just finished a personal experiment. I've listened to, in chronological order, all of the Stones' studio albums from the debut through 'Exile'. Just before listening to 'Exile', I concluded that 'Beggars Banquet' was the Stones album with the best lyrics but 'Let It Bleed' was the Stones album with the best overall flow. And then I pu

I mean, all Keef did was tap him on the shoulder once, and before he even knew who it was, he turned around and punched Keef in the eye !

I met John Doe from the L.A. band X after a gig one night, and I approached him by saying "I'd like to ask you, if I could, a couple of questions about your music". His response was "I'd rather talk about drinking", and he turned away and went back to talking with some appreciative female punkers !

God, no. I still feel that "Emotional Rescue" stands as the Stones' all-time worst song...and that 'Emotional Rescue' the album is still their weakest to this very day. No other Stones album and single combo disappointed me as much as those did.

He definitely should rank somewhere in the top 50. The top five would have to be Hendrix, Page, Clapton, J. Beck and Stevie Ray -- in THAT order.

Phish opened a couple of shows in 2003 with a cover of "Loving Cup". Can you imagine the squeals of delight if the Stones would do this -- even just once ?

No other album sums up the turmoil and chaos of the '60's like 'Beggars Banquet', in my opinion. I still think it stands as the album with the Stones' best lyrics.

I think the answer is probably Springsteen. I base this on a supposedly true story that I heard which occurred in St. Louis on "The River" tour in 1980. Springsteen was in a movie theatre on a day off when a young fan approached. The kid said to Bruce, "I don't want to draw a lot of attention to you, but I know you're Bruce Springsteen. I want you to know I'm a b

This is a serious question. What if the Stones would have ended their career with 'Tattoo You' and the 1981 American tour and 1982 'Urban Jungle' European tour ? Would their legend be better preserved today ? Would they have TRULY gone out on top ? Think about it -- those last fading notes of "Waiting on a Friend" on 'Tattoo You' providing a touching fa

Pretty good album. It has a couple of weak tracks (Cherry Oh Baby and Hey Negrita), but overall, real fine. I've always felt that Memory Motel and Fool to Cry stand right beside Wild Horses as the Stones' finest ballads. And Crazy Mama deserves more live airings ! Rocks like a mother !

It continues to sound like their best album since 'Some Girls'. And I continue to be dimly hopeful that more of it gets played live.

Oh...and 'Exile' isn't even my favorite Stones album. It's my second favorite, after 'Beggars Banquet' -- which I still believe is the Stones' consummate masterpiece.

Baboon Bro, The songs I find VERY weak on GHS would be as follows: 'Dancing with Mr. D', 'Hide Your Love', and 'Can You Hear the Music'. I think 'Coming Down Again' and '100 Years Ago' are just mediocre/so-so, and I think that 'Silver Train' is kind of a lazy re-write of 'All Down the Line' from 'Exile'. So

1) Beatles 2) Stones 3) Who 4) Springsteen & the E Street Band 5) UFO 6) Thin Lizzy 7) Beach Boys (only until about 1978 -- after that, they sucked) 8) Phish 9) The Clash 10) The Sex Pistols As far as Led Zeppelin goes....a great band, sure, but highly overrated and not that great of a live band (have you ever heard on bootlegs how often Page is out-of-tune ?). Honorable mentio

It's hardly a masterpiece. I would rank it as one of the few mediocre-to-bad albums the Stones have done -- and there's very few of those: 'Satanic Majesties', 'Goats Head Soup', 'Emotional Rescue', and 'Dirty Work' are the only four that come to mind. "Angie", "Heartbreaker", "Winter" and "Star Star" hold
