My mother's first concert ever was Beatles at Shea Stadium. Her father waited in the car outside.

I coulda swore I heard a Eurythmics reunion was the horizon Would they lie to you? I would prefer her solo. She did retire, but it is the 40th anniversary of Sweet Dreams...maybe a reunion is in the works. My

Technically, it was the Joe Ely Band at an amphitheater in the Bay Area about 1981; all the guys are/were friends of the family. I was 5yo and Jesse Taylor took me under his wing, he was a great guy. I saw this band a few times as a child before buying my first ticket. First concert I intended to go to, was the Rolling Stones at Oakland Stadium November 4th, 1989...which I think ended up as

Nina Simone at the Wiltern had left the stage, house lights were on, house music playing...and the crowd was stomping, cheering and refusing to leave. Finally (10 minutes?) Nina came back on, told us she would do one more and then we had to leave. It was the first real encore I had witnessed. Seeing X at the Canyon Club, great show with tons of audience energy (surprised...maybe the best

Saw the show in Thousand Oaks, very much enjoyed it and Nick Lowe was outstanding. I was really excited to see Charlie again too. Fito Paez guested on Radio Radio which just blew my mind when he was introduced. Elvis stated he stole Radio Radio from Paez...no word on giving back the royalties. Fito Paez was my highlight for sure but the whole show was great. The venue felt a bit too...sa

The lining up was strange as I recall. I remember many of us lined up at one entrance only to be told we had to line up at a different entrance. There were maybe 2 guy at the front with an inflatable bed or something (and a few people behind them)...many of us were put out that we had lined up earlier but were now a bit further back. I was still within the first 30 in line and ended up front

I was there up front center, slightly towards Ronnie. I met Mr. Matt Lee there (I think it was you...it was a long time ago). He told me he was out having dinner the night before and Ronnie came into the restaurant...and asked if he could join him (Matt). It seems this may have been the first time they had a dinner together. Matt told me Ronnie promised him he would give Matt a guitar pick at

About 13-14 years ago my mother who grew up in Stamford Connecticut asked me if I had ever heard of Willy DeVille. She told me she had been looking up people she knew as a child on the internet and found her childhood friend and that he was no longer alive. It appeared to her he had become a successful musician. Her first boyfriend was best friends with Willy and the three of them were a tight

Quotetreaclefingers Quotesdstonesguy Sittin' On A Fence/Waiting On A Friend That's funny. Now I can't get the Sitting on a Fence melody with the Waiting on a Friend lyric out of my head. "I'm Just Waiting On a Friend, You can say I've got no sense" I'm just sitting on a friend...

Thinking about A-Ha Thursday...but after watching some live videos...I am not so sure. Band sounds great, but the front man sure does not look terribly interested in his own concert. I like a front man who makes every song his favorite tune... I did buy Midnight Oil tickets yesterday though.

QuoteNashvilleBlues To each his/her own, but I love The New York Dolls! That said, we all know the RNR HOF hasn't meant much at all for a long time, if it ever did. The Dolls were outstanding and even better live. Sylvain was outstanding and David Johansen is a great front man. I guess some people don't like this style of rock n' roll; I can't imagine not getting the S

QuoteRockman These guys are more a legend than a band. Their first name was the T-Nickel House Band...T-Nickel is my step-dad. Jesse Taylor (a Flatlander as several moved in and out of the band...but known as Joe Ely's guitarist) is still the best guitarist nobody has ever heard of...in my opinion. Nice add Rockman. P.S. Happiness is still Lubbock, Tx in my rear view mirror

Well everyone knows the first Amoeba is in Berkeley, but who knows it used to be a Mexican restaurant? It was dark, there was a fountain in the middle and the bathrooms were scary for a child. Grew up right down the street...Berkeley sure has changed...but my memories have not. At least People's Park is still there...for now. It is funny, while I love Amoeba, I still see this first o
