Yes, just checked this out today. Indeed, April Wine opened both shows, and recorded them and put out a live album the same year. But what I want to know is - does the album contain recordings from the March 4th show? Or did they have “recording problems” too?

"We had enough material for the live album, but we thought this would be fun. And that we'd get a different sound." On the live album? Yes. With this new version with the heavy added reverb? No.

QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteErik_Snow CS Blues is just like Dylan's Renaldo & Clara from the 1975 tour; extremely boring apart from the concert footage. Both should had been edited with 70%-80%, then it would be a terrific 20 minute watch. right i agree but how much footage did franks shoot that was left out that would make for a more interesting document of the tour i'm thinking l

Sounds like the breakdown in You Can’t Always Get What You Want. Live mostly, though a bit of the studio. It’s a common progression.

QuoteS.T.P A box set of the Philadelphia concerts including the Stevie Wonder performances would be a dream come true! I think the Pittsburgh 72 show smokes any of the Philly ones.

1:18 I believe the first line is “I’m a line tootin’” 1:56 first line I believe he references rain. This would make the rest of the verse make sense.

Roll a fatty and crank your favorite copy of Ya Yas. JR was a legend. Knew him since the early 90s. At times it was a weekly Friday afternoon phone call, when he’d have started into the Guinness and would be chain smoking, playing his latest find or acquisition over the phone to me via his beloved Klipsches. Later he’d be sharing details about a “sweet” Gretsch guitar, or his intense harmonica

Many are thinking this footage is from the Dallas rehearsals midway through the 72 tour. Believe the first time this was seen was in the recent Apple TV documentary series on the year 1971.

Apologies to anyone having trouble reading this. I am not a subscriber and was able to access it earlier. A work around may be googling the title of the article. This is quite a comprehensive article on this monumental show. I lived very close, in neighboring Shrewsbury, and was 14 years old when I heard the ticket/show announcement on the radio in the morning waking up for school. St

Yes. the Montauk tape. I’m in the Boston area and received that tape in a trade in the late 90s. I believe it was titled “Andy Warhol Party.” Subsequently learned it was Montauk rehearsals

Doesn’t make sense. The three “unreleased” titles in the same ad with 6 released titles. If the released ones were alternate versions of them, that would equal the 9 bonus tracks. But that other info (From?) says only one alternate. Weird.

QuoteSighunt I know that the majority of folks who listen to Jamming with Edward gravitate towards the uptempo jams like Blow With Ry (which is awesome), but Jagger's rendition of It Hurts Me Too, in IMHO, is the standout cut (and probably the only reason) that I come back and listen to this LP. Although it's a little loose (like the rest of the tunes on it), I think Jagger delivers a g

I don’t think this was created as an advertisement for a future product/release. I think this is a promotion for the Mercury group/studio’s collection for prospective industry clients - people who would use these as clips etc. in other productions.

QuoteStonedRambler QuoteIGTBA I disagree. They postponed AC because the following Beacon movie shoots were more important to them. Yes, Mick's voice was fragile then, but I believe it was a business decision to postpone AC to ensure Mick could do the scheduled movie shoots. Mick has performed several times with voice issues, including the second Desert Trip and Vegas afterward (when he ha

QuoteSonofHarlemShuffler Glad you like it too, georgie48. Even by Stones standards the lyrics are pretty impenetrable. Has anyone here been able to hear wha Mick’s singing? You can’t decipher them because they aren’t lyrics. Maybe you hear him say “telephone” or another word here or there, but these are just fillers. He’s got the melody and the phrasing but often doesn’t do the lyrics - beyon

It was the BBC archive, and is now called the Getty Images archive. I checked my post history and it was back in January of 2016 that I mentioned it. Quoteyearsinthemaking There's just not much out there from 1970-73. Robert Frank may have made some more live video but it seems fairly crappy. As for Robert Frank original footage, anything out there would be 16 or 8mm, and incomplete. I have seen some Frank outtakes which included b/w footage from Washington, D.C. - the camera, onstage, does a full-circle pan around the stadium and you c
