Quotematxil QuoteWitness QuoteSend It To me It's possible on Brown Sugar that they asked the African Americans in the band how they felt about it. It's possible Mick just doesn't feel comfortable singing it at the moment. It's possible they just don't want to attract attention to it in a review and risk getting "cancelled." I do hope that it is your exp

I hope the choice not to play "Brown Sugar" has nothing to do with Woke, but only is the result of Mick not feeling comfortable about singing it, without his feelings being provoked by that Woke phenomenon. Edit: Spelling error

QuoteGasLightStreet Down on the Gulf Coast, they're getting DESTROYED. Up here on the original Gulf Coast... not so bad. A good ways away from the carnage. It may get bad enough here but nothing at all, within range of a category 1 hurricane, compared to down below that are dealing with a category 4 for quite a while. Enormous difference. Well, GasLightStreet, how did you come

QuoteHairball A couple of things to be grateful for are that Micks solo singles Getta Grip and England Lost (and the useless remixes) will not be on a new Stones album. Entering repetition time to obtain some balance. You may remain thankful for that. And I may be as thankful that not any of the songs on CROSSEYED HEART, as they are, will bore me, included on a Stones album, if there will b

Quotegeorgelicks QuoteDoxa Hmm... The latest turn of this thread seems to be bashing "Living in A Ghost Town"... I predict that the new album (if and when it will be released) will be a huge disappointment for many people, since I am afraid it is not going to be a new EXILE... - Doxa For some regular visitors on this thread the last good Stones song was Waiting On A Friend or so

If it was not clear enough, with my suggestion in the earlier post of mine of a double album, one LP without, one LP with that alleged "techno pop", I meant two versions of each song. One separate album without "techno pop" versions, one separate album with. That would make it possible for listeners to hear both versions of the album or only one of them, according to their pre

QuoteKRiffhard QuoteBungo I'm sure no one will believe this but I'm gonna lay it out there anyway : Last week I was sipping Tequila at the pool in Hotel California in Todos Santos Mexico when a chap sat down near me and with little else to do we started chatting. Long story short it turns out he is close to the recording process of the new Stones record (engineer or studio technician

QuoteSway65 QuoteTheGreek QuoteSway65 QuoteTheGreek what else is it about if not for the money Maybe it's because they enjoy playing together? After all, how could money possibly be a motive given their age and the fact that they are already millionaires several times over? It's not as if they need cash. Only Mick Jagger could give the answer to this . I think it's go

QuoteGerardHennessy QuoteJumpingKentFlash Quotewavelength It has been one decades long ego trip for Mick Jagger. When he couldn't make it on his own solo he fell back into the Rolling Stones fold. They guy is so self-centered and full of himself, He lives in the MJ bubble. KR goes into it in his book. I don't think he knows how to express empathy. When Bowie died the only thing he could

I've been clear to say that I really think they should cancel the mini tour out of respect for Charlie and because of COVID issues. However, in relation to that allegorical perspective, it is the family themselves or the close friends themselves that have to decide what to do and how. It does not belong to the distant guests to tell them what to do about the continuation of their lives.

At least one prominent poster here seems to be of that opinion. I understand your interpretation of my logic but Brian was not contributing to the music or the business so replacing him was a respectable business and

QuoteElmo If the band tours without Charlie a precedent will be set - the money making machine rolls on notwithstanding the death of a founder member. So what happens if/when the same situation applies to Jagger or Richards, who would the others sign to take the place of the two most iconic figures in rock? Or would things be different then and, if so, why? In striking contrast to some posts, t

Especially at this time I don't find it warranted, but instead tasteless for me as a casual Rolling Stones fan either to advise or prophesize. I'd rather not do that later even, as I consider their choice the prerogative of the band's core members. Ought we not as fans have some respect towards them that way?

Probably, it has got something or even more to do with it, but not everything. I approached the Rolling Stones in a drawn out process from 1964 and on, when I did not myself have a record player in the beginning.
