Quotelem motlow The thread is about Keith Richards and his disappearance on the subject, that’s why i didn’t put OT on it originally. You can’t be on the cover of Rolling Stone with the guy, appear in two of his movies and walk the red carpet with your family smiling and soaking up the attention you get from hanging with one of the most famous actors in Hollywood and then go silent on a story th

Quotelem motlow She’s not even good enough to produce tears when she fake cries and those “ evidence” pictures, oh man. Making good headlines though and a lot of people are buying it, Amber has made a bit of a comeback from earlier. At one point Depps lawyer looked at him and said “ she’s good” and he shook his head yes, weirdly he seemed sort of proud. These people are the most twisted ones

These guys seriously ROCK, and are my favorite "new" band. I always knew Mike Campbell is an awesome guitarist, but never knew he could create such amazing music without Tom Petty (God rest his soul). WOW!!! Drew

QuoteRocky Dijon QuoteGerardHennessy What I find rather frustrating is that this site is overwhelmingly sycophantic in its views about the band. Fair enough. It is the absolute right of those who hold those views. But should anyone venture to express a more critical opinion, the wrath of the ages is visited upon us. We should all be afforded the same rights. While undoubtedly true in many cas

Well, I won't be seeing this band on tour because I don't consider them the Rolling Stones anymore. To me, it is now a band with 3 members of the Rolling Stones playing with a bunch of other people, some of whom (like Jordan) are very talented. But it is not the Rolling Stones. But that's just me, and I can understand why they choose to soldier on. Drew

I've always loved Freejack. The sets, the action sequences, the characters, the humor, Mick, Estevez, all the other actors -- an exhilarating ride into the "future" (2009!) Drew

QuoteNilsHolgersson When you watch the Four Flicks documentary and the Stones are in the studio just jamming some blues songs.. I think it's the best thing ever, I don't even know what song it is, maybe Jagger makes up the lyrics on the spot.. You better leave that man alone.. or you're gonna lose your happy home Hey Nils, I totally agree - it's a marvelous track! A few year

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteJadedFaded I have often thought how very very lucky I am to have been born when I was because when I was in my teens, there was a musical renaissance going on. On the radio every day I got to hear the Stones, the Beatles, The Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Byrds, CS&N, CSN&Y, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Doors, Aretha Franklin, the Supremes, the Tem

Quotetatters Here's a couple of examples of the kind of singing I'm talking about. Yeah, I don't care for those either - primarily because they sound so WIMPY! Like nursery rhymes or something you'd hear on Sesame Street. Sanitized corporate BS. Then on the other end of the spectrum there's rap, so often featuring exaggerated machismo and braggadocio and vio

QuoteSpud This old Luddite holds digital recording party responsible for music losing some of its soul over the last three or four decades Agreed. As just one example - years ago, Elton John switched from working on tracks with a live drummer in the studio to using a drum machine. His music immediately lost its swing and swagger. Drew

QuoteStonesfan2146 Do you also know those moments when you listen to a Stones song you liked but never paid lots of special attention to, and then one day you listen to the album version and it just feels like a perfect piece altogether? With Memory Motel that was the case with me during those past few days, the song just hits in a very unique way, so impressive that it's even shivers and

I'm wondering if either of the Glimmer Twins has expressed their feelings about rap music. Obviously an enduring form of "music" but so different from the blues and R&B that the Stones built their sound on. Aside from the odd sample (like in ASMB ) I don't see much rap influence on the Stones music. Mick being the one focused on "contemporary" sounds, mayb
