The diversity of opinions about this album is amazing. This one is my personal favorite. Drew

Just to echo so many of the other posts on this thread - yes, IORR is the #1 Stones platform, and it has brought me so much pleasure and so many useful insights in the 18 years that I've been a part of it. The clean/uncluttered layout, the user-friendliness of the site, the incredible knowledge of the fans who post here, and our shared love of the world's greatest rock and roll band

Quotegotdablouse In any case it's pretty appalling that the Glimmer Twins have practically nothing to show for the past 20 years other than laughing all the way to the bank again and again after fleecing the fans. Such a waste... OUCH!! That's maybe the most scathing comment I've ever read about the band. Not that I necessarily disagree, though! Drew

So, this morning one of Buddy's songs came on rotation ("Help Wanted"), and I was mesmerized from the beginning. That incredible guitar phrasing, that voice, the passion, the joy, the humor, the generosity, all the things that make Buddy so great ... ... and then I started to think about the fact this is the last year I will ever be able to see Buddy perform live ... ... and

Quotemakemeburnthecandle Agreed Drew! This song grew on me, like many others, despite not fully appreciating it for the first few listens. WAY represents the true talent of our amazing band. Many friends, knowing my appreciation for the GOAT, have asked me what my fav RS song is. The WAY reply is frequently met with a “never heard of that” response. A true classic that never got its deserved ai

Ok, I'm going to go on the record and say that Worried About You may in fact be the Rolling Stones greatest track. EVER. There, I said it. Anyone care to join me in saying this? It's lonely here all by myself. Drew

QuoteDoxa Anyway, the arguments for quantity over quality seems to derive from the band, at least in the case of A BIGGER BANG. You could also make the mathematical argument that releasing an album of 14-16 songs is more likely to include songs that an individual listener is going to really like, versus an album of just 10 songs. Looking at the feedback on their later work, it seems clear that

Quotefrankotero I guesss anything is possible. Maybe they are saving the album until after that inevitable day comes, the one we don't want to think about. That way they wouldn't have to put up with the criticism. Just one of many reasons. Well, I hope for the best, whatever that may be. Interesting line of thought, but what do you mean exactly? What criticism? Drew

QuoteRockman But Hey I do read his interviews ..... I can't resist some of Macca's best stuff (Band on the Run, Let Me Roll It, Silly Love Songs, With A Little Luck). Brilliant ear-candy. At the same time, I realize there is just something a bit off-putting or uncool about him. And always has been. Drew

In spite of his 60 years of worldwide fame, I think Mick is actually UNDER-appreciated by the general public when it comes to his abilities as a singer. If you had to pick ONE studio track with Mick’s most jaw-droppingly amazing vocal performance, what would it be? For me, at the moment at least, I would choose “All Your Love” from the Blue & Lonesome disc. Possibly the most stunning v

Quotejohnh QuoteDoxa Isn't it the plural form that kills the metaphoric idiom? Or what do the people speaking English properly think? - Doxa yeah, the plural takes it another place. Not necessarily. Maybe there are two people in the room with Keith? Drew

What Made Taylor Swift’s Concert Unbelievable "At her epic opening show, the pop star played 44 songs and conjured actual magic." As much as her appeal escapes me, it would seem that Taylor Swift is the Mick Jagger of today's young performers. I hope the Stones will "conjure actual magic" when they next perform, like the article says she did. Drew

QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteDeanGoodman The Times wrote a big piece about Mick's hat. We've come a long way from "Who Breaks a Butterfly on a Wheel?" Are you a dilf like Mick Jagger? At an Arsenal match over the weekend, the 79-year-old Mick Jagger, father of eight, grandad to six and a great-grandfather to three, wore a cap declaring his alternative identity as “DILF”. T

If and when this thing is finally released, I sure hope this is one of the tracks - IMO, the most promising snippet I've heard from their teasers of the past decade. Mick, if you're reading this - please don't forget about it! Drew

QuoteStoneage It's a no-brainer to me. Toxic goods that damages peoples health and causes death shouldn't be allowed to sell to the public. We don't allow toxic substances in food or other things that affects human health so why should we allow companies to sell things to the public that damages their health in the short and long run? I don't buy this egoistic neoliberalism th

QuoteDiegoGlimmerStones I think this is the commercial As an American, I'm perhaps more embarrassed about this god-awful chain of restaurants than just about anything else my beloved country has spawned. As someone wrote, Applebee's is the epitome of mediocrity. Worse, the company peddles "food" that is not food, stuff that in the long run is lethal to one's heal
