QuoteMathijs As much as I love Worried About You - I find the outtake with original vocals far, far better. It sounds live, Jagger sounds a bit drunk, and the fact that it runs slow makes it an even better listen. Utterly fantastic. Mathijs It is good. I tried to play along with my guitar tune up to my tuner but the tuning the Stones are using is not standard (the A string is not at 110

I said it in 2018 because it is a fact in Stones lore. Re: King Of The Frontman ??? Posted by: rollmops () Date: January 18, 2018 05:33 Now that James Brown and Prince are gone Mick Jagger is the king. After all those years, after thousands of shows, he has never fell down once physically and figuratively. Mick is the ONE. Rockandroll, Mops

Hi Justin; thank you for the work you do on the rolling Stones on youtube. Woodoo Brew and Woodoo Stew are important recordings that help understand that the Stones in 1993 -94 were firing on all cylinders. I am not a complainer of" the record is too long". Certainly during the Woodoo sessions, ideas, riffs, melodies, harmonies were sparking all over the place in Ireland; it is fantast

Star Star was a contoversial song for audiences that understood english. For the public that didn't it was a great rock and roll song. In 1973 rock and roll was kept alive through Glam rock music and bands like the Stones that stayed connected with the roots of R&R. For me StarStar is a great song that reaffirmed where the Stones stood on the spectrum of pop/rock music away from the pro

Eddie like lots of the rockandroll pionners was born in the 30's. Lot of these great musicians got stucked in their roots identity and culture. The next generation of rockers born in the 40's in comparison were able to explore the musical possibility and musically evolve in the 60's and 70's. Jimi Hendrix was born in 1942 and Eddie was born in 1938; not a big difference in y

Good job Fareastlansingman. Never heard of that canceled gig. Usually the country goverments were scared/worried about a rolling stones gig. For once in 1966, the tables were turned.

Eddie Cochran did not live long enough to experience the full evolution of rock and roll music. He died in 1960 at age 21. He started his career as a professional musician at 15. In this 1959 interview, he mentions that rockandroll had been there for a while (long before it was named) and his predictions on the futur of the music are spot on. Eddie seemed like a great guy. The interview sta

I watched the women basketball olympic finale in Paris between the usa and France. Fantastic game that the USA won by 1 point. From the start of the game, I noticed a French player ,Gabby Williams, with the rolling stones logo tattooed on the back of her arm. I did quick search to try to figure out if she was a stones fan. No luck. Is she a fan or just a fan of the logo?

I wonder if there was any interaction between Mick and Leon? After all they were physically very close to each other. Who should make the move forwards? Mick ? because Leon is the shinning star at that moment. Or Leon because Jagger is Mick Jagger and the opportunity of speaking to him is not going to happen again.

Like Bill said it himself, with these recordings he is channeling the great JJ cale. Cale is a musician who is loved by other talented musicians;that is the ultimate compliment. Thank you Bill, great record!

QuoteStonesfan2146 Quotegeorgelicks AC/DC had mega-successful albums until 2008-2009, Black Ice was #1 worldwide and an incredible success in the US, it was the second best-selling album in the world in 2008, the tour was impressive, that renewed the base for millions and the band released 2 new albums since then, not to mention that Back In Black is a stainless classic that is uninterruptedly on

Quotetreaclefingers Faraway Eyes was magic. When Keith and Chanel come in for the backup it's just great...this should be a staple and I hope makes the live album. Far away eyes on this tour seems to be the version Keith originally wanted the country song to be; serious. The way Mick originally sang the song in 1978 was "funny" and tongue-in-cheek. So eventually Keith got it hi

Great addition to the show. Samantha is the real deal and the perfect opener for the Rolling Stones. She knows her stuff as far as blues and playing guitar go. She could sit down with Mick and Keith and shoot the shit about rock and roll music! I always go to her show when she comes in my area.

Jimmy Kimmel was on the Howard Stern Show yesterday and while on the air he did not visit his best friend empty-handed; Jimmy had a story for Howard. Kimmel was invited by a friend to go a party at Mc Cartney's home in L.A. At the party was Paul, Ringo, Mick Jagger, Keith, Bruce Sprinsteen, Taylor Swift, Spielberg etc....That party was kept secret it seems because the media learned it from J

I think Voodoo is a musically very conservative record( Thank you Don Was). It seems that the early 90's zeitgeist was trying to capture the 70's spirit. Woodoo is great because it sounds very familiar, almost predictable and lots of listeners enjoy that feeling when listening to music. Others don't, they want something new. I love Woodoo Lounge.

When Keith at the beginning of his set mentionned that he was going to get paid more because he sings an extra song, it was probably a joke but I wonder if the lawyers had to get involved when that change in the program happened. Mick sings one less and Keith one more. Is it just Mick asking Keith "can you help me ?"?.

Great Show last night; Sympathy was very strong, Gimme Shelter very strong, Midnight Rambler awesome, Honky Tonk Keith on fire! The new songs( more melodicand pop) suffer in a stadium context where the mixing of the orchestra is saturated. Some of the ending of songs are very sloppy but somewhat fun to watch, like a tittle bit of a trainwreck !!!That's rockand roll. Thank you The Rolli

QuoteRockman Brian had the look as that picture can attest. The original Stones(not Taylor) were not virtuosos. They did not seem to bother "study" their instruments that much.I wonder if they had to many other things to do than learning, chords, scales, expending the musical possibilites. May be they did not care, they figure out a way of being efficient and good without technically
