They are both(Mick&Keith) very smart, witty and quick. They have spent lot of time answering questions so they have become experts; most of us don't have to practice that skill. The editing of that interview with Chris is done so the Stones look good which is also important in communicating the images. The dumb answers, if any, have probably been edited out. I am guessing that the simplification of the stage design is the result of the world economical crisis. It probably needs a smaller team and less equipment and trucks. It is also a big business that needs not to go in the red. Rockandroll, Mops

He was able to create a persona in the Scorcese's movies, next to De Niro and Pesci, a persona that stood on its own, tall and strong. That is not small achievement. A giant amongst the Giants. RIP Ray. Rockandroll, Mops

Because Some Girls was a kind of "back to the roots" with a guitar driven approach, not having a prominent Billy Preston in the team made sense. Another page had to be turned... Rockandroll, Mops

That second show at El Mocambo is the last time Billy Preston played live with the Rolling Stones. Great performance by Billy. Rockandroll, Mops

That take of Fool to Cry is excellent. Billy Preston had a great influence on Mick and the Stones' music for a while. Beside the keyboards, Preston used his voice pretty efficiently, falsetto, high pitched harmonies, responses to Mick ad libs and funny vocal tricks. Those two were doing vocal weaving while Keithandronnie used their guitars to rock-crochet a l'ancienne! Rockandroll, Mo

If you are talking about rockandroll music, it's got to be Keith Richards. He dedicated his musical career on that activity. The songs and the live shows are there to prove it; he has done very well for a long long time. Rockandroll, Mops

QuoteTheGreek The endless debate between Bill Wyman and Daryl Jones bass playing . There is no comparison as far as the sound and groove and beat / foundation in the rhythm section along with the Great Charlie Watts . For me Wyman bass sound was bigger than life and such a thumping powerful bass in the lower register of the tonal spectrum . Now

January 17 1998 MSG NYC: Might AS Well Get Juiced. I don't think they played that one very often. Mick played a small keyboard center stage and the slow and throbbing beat may not have suited the big room. I enjoyed it knowing that was a surprise to ear that BTB's nugget Rockandroll, Mops

Dance little Sister. I like the groove on that one and Steve's strong hits on the snare drum could work well. They need to rehearse it a little bit. Rockandroll, Mops

The Rolling Stones are still a fascinating band to see live especially if you score a good seat or the pit. It is an amazing experience. There are other bands that are great but The Stones rock and roll the best! Rockandroll, Mops

Dear Doctor: Mick Jagger's vocal technique on that number is fantastique! What he does with his voice is really good, the inflections, the accentuation, the stretching of the words, pushing his voice to the limits of his higher range etc... Top job Mick!! Rockandroll, Mops

I read a review of the show that was written in 1977 that mentions Margaret Trudeau carrying several cameras at the show. I wonder if she took pictures during the performance, she was very close to the stage. Rockandroll, Mops

Keith's guitar tone at El Mocambo is fantastic (LoveYouLive). It is warm, thick, great dynamics. IF I had to name a perfect R&R guitar sound that would be Keith at El Mocambo. I remember listening to LYL in 1977 especially the 3rd side and being blown away by Keith's performance. Not flashing, just perfect. And knowing the pressure Keith was on, he deserves all the respect that he ha
