QuoteMelBelli Mick said he was taken with the architecture of bridges, and that was going to be the name of the album — “Bridges.” And then the playwright Tom Stoppard suggested adding “…to Babylon.” In 1996 Bill Clinton used "the Bridge" as an image and a slogan to connect the 20th century with the 21 th; the bridge was cool around that time! May be the symbolism inspired the Stones

RIP Robbie. Beside a great musician, he was a fasinating story teller. He loved rock and roll and he lived the life of a rocker, starting at an earlier age (16). He kept his passion for the music and was enthousiatic at sharing it with all of us. He was very rationnal and stable and did not seem to have been affected by the star system like so many of his comtemporaries. Rockandroll, Mops

All the songs from Black and Blue have been played live which means that the record is at least a valuable collection of songs that repeatedly has tickled Mick the right way.Great achievement for an album. Rockandroll, Mops

I have listened to it repeatdelty in the past and I enjoyed it a lot. It is R&B rather than R&R. It is what Sam Philips was looking for; the perfect imperfection or the antithesis of the Beatles' music. Rockandroll, Mops

I listened to "Shadow Kingdom" entirely while walking through the woods. Like Marcel Proust, Dylan deals with time, space, in a specific way by giving them significant parts on that album. It is a memory because the songs have been created long time ago and when I listen to them I invontarily remember the original version. Like Proust did, Dylan creates a sort of stream of consciousne

One of the 3 versions of MFT. Stevie plays ALL the instruments here. Remarkable. The version released for the soundtrack of Performance as Ry cooder on slide, Randy Newman on piano, Gene Parsons(the byrds) on drums, Jeff Scheff(Elvis) on bass; impressive line-up of talented american musicians. QuoteVoodooLounge13 I’m assuming, based on all the comments and her predicament, that just because she’s married to Chris, a British citizen, does not make her a British citizen like it would here in the US? In the USA, a foreigner married to a US citizen has to apply to become a US citizen. It is a procedure that takes time and one has to pay $725. Rockandroll, Mops

The ability to write and shape great songs that turn into commercial successes is a powerful skill/ strength for a musician who is part of a band. Without that competence it is difficult to lead the band especially if other in the band master the process. It must be very difficult to feel that one has been "dethroned" and to stay in the band. Quotesf37 Wow, Tim Storms is indeed pretty impressive. At the high end of the scale, the late Minnie Ripperton comes to mind ("Loving You"), with perhaps Mariah Carey coming in a close second. Yes it seems that Mariah is the female pop singer with the widest range(5). Christina is 4.5. Rockandroll, Mops

The person with the widest vocal range is Tim Storms with a surreal 10 octave range. He also has a record of hitting the lowest note. Mick Jagger has a 3 octave range. Axl Rose is the rock singer with the widest range: 5 octaves. Tim Storms : Rockandroll, Mops

QuoteGasLightStreet Quoterollmops 1978 version in rockinghardandfast: Rockandroll, Mops As good as that is, with it's franticness and energy, it's still lightyears away from 1969-1971's swagger. They essentially ruined it in 1972 and never opted to get back to the sex of 1969. It's basically been a disaster ever since. You are right; the"swagger" is a tr
