Yes, I have had exactly the same experience. Told that an email from rs.com with membership details would arrive within three working days. Six working days later not a thing. I fully realise that rs.com is not the best Stones site as I have had membership before. It's not so much that my life would be infinitely poorer without membership as that I want to receive what I've paid £65

Dare I say I always thought Bowie did great covers? Stones do as well though; all you mention and I love Harlem Shuffle, Everybody Needs Somebody, That's How Strong My Love Is and so many others too. Indeed, best cover band, I agree!

I thought Exile was brilliant from the first hearing, an absolute masterpiece. I thought Some Girls was very decent, half of it brilliant, half so so. I still feel exactly the same about both of them. Tattoo You is one that's really grown on me over the years.

Totally love this song and have from the first hearing over 30 years ago. One of Keith's best riffs imo.

The Cream reunion tickets were certainly very expensive, I'm not sure of the top price. I personally know someone who paid $1,000 to see McCartney in St. Petersburg a couple of years ago. Madonna certainly ain't cheap either and £60/$100 for a programme is extortionate by any standards! With regard to ridiculous merchandise prices I simply don't buy any and there's always a

My two penneth worth: Charlie was Charlie, quiet and bemused. Ron seemed fine to me and definitely not drunk. Mick was a real professional and quite witty sometimes. Keith was as he usually is at these things. He may have been tipsy but he didn't seem particularly drunk to me - compare his sluring when he's really drunk, he was pretty coherent this time. It's amazin

To Gia43: "i can't believe you ve seen his ziggy tour...how can one get over that? when i saw the hammersmith/final show on dvd, i was amazed! on which tour you think he was better?i have the feeling he s enjoying it more these days... " I was 14 when I saw the Ziggy tour - I got to two shows, towards the end of it. (Not Hammersmith though almost exactly the same set.) It is r

To Gia43 "Was the Reality tour good?" It was fantastic. The DVD from Dublin will give you a good idea of it. He changed the setlists a lot so even seeing 8 shows in 2 weeks wasn't at all boring. The band were very tight, DB sang incredibly well and also looked like he was genuinely enjoying himself. To be honest, I remember seeing him on the big Ziggy tour in 1973 and he look

Well you can tell where I stand from my username. I chose it cos it's a very Stones like riff. I have loved the Stones and Bowie from 1969 and 1972 respectively and that's a long time. I must say it was a hell of a lot cheaper to follow Bowie around on the Reality tour in 2003 when I got to all the UK and Irish gigs at a pretty modest cost. But I can't tell you how much I look f

Ged Rambler, Thanks. I can hardly believe it's my first Stones concert either. It's just always seemed so hard to get tickets but this tour I decided that I wanted to see them at any price and I'm happy enough with the price I paid. I'll make a weekend of it and try to find a hotel near enough to the Stadium not to worry about transport. I've seen so many videos, DV

Yes, I am. I've just booked on a whim ten minutes ago. I live in London and did not have fan club membership and didn't even try the public sale this morning cos I couldn't blag a morning off work and I expected chaos, crashing websites and all the rest of it. Looked tonight on the very slim hope that there'd still be tickets but of course there weren't. On the other h

People were looking for the new Beatles for years after they split up but I think it's now finally accepted there will never be another Beatles. There will never be another Presley. And there will never be another Stones!

I'm glad someone started this. I've been listening for a couple of hours and I think it's the best since Exile on Main Street - I really do! There's nothing I really dislike but so far about six really stand out to me as outstanding songs: It Won't Take Long Rain Fall Down Streets Of Love Back of My Hand She Saw Me Coming Laugh I Nearly Died To narrow that d

Well, I'm surprised reading this thread that GHS IS considered an underrated album! Just cos I would have put it up there with the classics anyhow! If we pass on GHS then I definitely agree that Undercover is underrated - apart from the rockers already mentioned Too Much Blood is one of my all time fav Stones songs. And, yes, Dirty Work is a good album too!

"you never know...might be around the same time as moto gp at estoril!!" Lisalover, Just gotta comment that it's GREAT to find another Moto GP enthusiast here! Well, we know that Rossi will still be riding for Yamaha next year too so to take in that plus a Stones show in the same week would be heaven!!

MLC, Thanks for that. I think myself that the Stones golden era was from Beggars Banquet to Exile and Goats Head Soup, IORR were fantastic too. Sure, there have been great albums before and since those but Beggars, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile remain their career highlights for me. Of course it would be great to see MT play with the guys again but I don't think it'll ev

MCDDTLC, "Rebel - since you never saw the Stones Live when Taylor was in the band, (I did three times) don't think your opinion holds much weight, put it this way - if one of your 1st cars was a: Ferrari (Taylor) and then you got into a Ford Mustang (Wood) and started driving with someone like "Albett" and he was popping off with; " Isn't this car grea

To ChrisM, Thanks for the reply. I wish it was so simple as to get to a ticket office! I tried last time, believe me, but was all sold out in about 30 minutes or something. (On the internet I mean.) Well, I hope I'm a bit more clued up this time. Certainly this site should be a great help. Believe me, I've got all the video's/DVDs whatever and I dream of seeing them.

Well, I do believe that Elton now has successful hair implants - hence the stopping wearing caps all the time. You're right of course that for years he tried without success. Nowdays I think that anyone with the money can have a good job done though I'm certainly no expert in the field. Being wthout money I've never tried! But Keith's bonce looks OK to me! Interesting that

Well said, Maverick! As a newcomer to this site I really don't understand the hostility I've seen shown to Ronnie by some, or, quite frankly, the reverence to Mick Taylor. MT was a Stone for a few years only. Ronnie has been there for 30. He, (Ronnie), is a great musician and all round loveable guy. He's contributed a lot over the years. Sure, MT was great too but he left over 3
