Mick's vocals were most definitely live. I would love to have seen Heartbreaker performed as well. It was a single release in the US but i am sure the Stones never made a promo film to go with it. I do love the influence of glam rock on Mick's appearance and i believe in 1973 the Stones were perfect visually as well as musically. Unfortunately It's Only Rock And Roll tipped the ba

What is the general view on the Stones appearances in the Don Kirsher's Rock Concert Series. I really love the Stones performance in 1973 when promoting Goats Head Soup. There are two versions of the performance of Angie one with Mick sitting down wearind a white jacket and trouses and another with Mick wearing a straw hat. It seems odd seeing Mick Taylor miming a piano part on this song. S

I also like Just Another Night. It's one song where i feel the more modern recording techniques work in its favour. I also think Micks voice is very effective. There are a number of Keith's songs i really like including Take It So Hard. My only problem is his songs somehow sound incomplete - i am always asking myself what they would sound like in the hands of a better vocalist like Mic

I think it may be the Stones were taking a different approach playing smaller venues- less amplification and more laid back sound. The concerts at the Marquee and Leeds are well below the Stones standards of this period and the most effective songs are the less rocky such as Dead Flowers and I Got The Blues.I also think Jaggers vocals begin to sound a little hoarse after a while at the Marquee.

I have to agree the 78 tour was the last great rock n roll tour. The 81 tour was great musically but was marred by Mick's bad vocals.

I do feel in the Stones history the legacy of Brian Jones is often overlooked especially when compared to the endless Taylor v Wood debates. I do believe although much of the work the Stones produced when Brian was in his prime was less than typical of their recognised sound Brian added incredible diversity which has added so greatly to their catalogue. Albums such as Aftermath and Between The

What is your favourite 2 sided Stones single - A side plus B side. There have been a number of great examples, for example Honky Tonk Women/You Can't Always Get What You Want, Brown Sugar/Bitch/Let It Rock and Jumping Jack Flash/Child Of The Moon but my favourite would have to go to Let's Spend The Night Together/Ruby Tuesday which are equally effective and are both a departure from th
