My list would be (in no particular order) : 1. New York, Nov 28th 1969 - 1st show (complete) 2. Brussels, Oct 17th 1973 - second show (complete) 3. Newcastle, Liverpool etc..1971 show (reportedly includes Sympathy & Wild Horses and perhaps Can't You Hear Me Knocking) 4. Melbourne 17th Feb 1973 - 2nd show (complete) 5. El Mocambo 1977 (complete) Esky

It was a good tour - not great. Started off very slowly with some crappy shows, then lifted...finally ! It was a scaled-down Tour with no large stage setups and props. Mick was very casual....it's as if the Stones toured for the hell of it and it showed early in the Tour. Overrated? Well I have never rated it highly....

Hi everyone, I have a version of this (spliced together from various sources I think) which runs EXTREMELY fast. It's title "New York You Talk Alot". Is this the BEST available of this show ? Is there a version which is speed-corrected ? I know this show (The Breakfast show) has never surfaced, but I believe my version is a splice from the various sources that do exist. I

Shattered has never worked. In fact, I don't reckon there's a version when Mick hasn't forgotten the words!! Why is this song so popular ??? Average song IMO. Sway should be kept to the studio, or to when they get a guest guitarist up on stage. The 3 I think: She's so Cold Shattered Sway

Taylor's performance of Sway just shows how great he would have been with the Stones today! Awesome. Get this CD !!

I'd add Midnight Rambler New York 1969 (the version on Ya Ya's from the 28th November). This song, although it doesn't boast a long guitar solo, is blessed with 2 incredibly well-played guitars. I can't think of any 2 guitarists in the world at the time that could make that song sound so haunting...brilliant.

The reason is: Mick Taylor, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts & Bill Wyman!! These guys and at the peak of their powers.... Combine that with Glyn Johns mixing/recording and you have the live power of the Stones.

There's only one way to truly test to see if Open-g is OpenG : Mick Taylor sucks, Ronnie is heaps better.... We'll wait and see if he bites....

I think it's a disgrace! What has this board come to....? I assume BV is just getting more nasty by the day as more and more negative Stones stuff comes rolling onto HIS site.... Esky

Hi all, I see on DIME there are 2 versions of this show. Does anyone know which is better? I assume they are 2 different sources. Thanks, Esky

My thinking is that it was (perhaps I'm hoping)... There have been a few excerpts from Bill's book, plus some other hints that the song was played... One thing is for sure, some of these shows were recorded from the soundboard so maybe one day we'll definately find out ! Incidently, this show on DIME - is it an upgrade to what is already out there??? Esky

You probably shouldn't have bothered with Brown Sugar from Auckland - it's a very sloppy beginning to one of the sloppiest 1973 shows ! Definately Keith was on more than one drug here!! Still - you have to love Mick's pounding vocals! At the height of his shouting ways!

lead guitar player doesn't mean overall guitar player. Overall Ronnie is OK, but has dropped dramatically over the years. He can still play quite well if he isn't drunk! Lead guitar, on the other hand, is a train wreck for poor old Ronnie....
