It sounds like the singer said "Enough is enough. We need to get the album past the finish line or we'll all be dead before it's out." Bringing in a new producer with no experience or baggage with the band also sounds like a good idea. His job was just to get the damn thing done and not get caught up in band shenanigans and ditherings. His idea for the sound of the album se

The process described in the NYT is pretty reassuring. It's good to hear most of the album was recorded over a relatively short period of time (though I'm guessing some or most of the songs had been kicked around for a while) rather than being warmed-over odds and ends from the past twenty years. It was clear from the outside they needed some kind of deadline and sense of urgency or the

QuoteDandelionPowdermanIt's been decades since I've heard such a well-produced and finished product from the Stones. Out of curiousity, what do you find "half-baked"? On first listen, I don't feel like it stretches much beyond the opening riff and bridge. The lyrics are mundane. I do recognize it's pretty catchy, I can live with the production and it does groove al

My two cents : can't say I'm very excited about the single, it sounds pretty half-baked. I had a listen to Anybody Seen My Baby and Saint of Me : whether you enjoy them much or not, there were well-crafted songs (as far as Stones songs go). And the video is a bit cringe, as the kids say. Here's a map for the Solidays festival which was also held at Longchamp. People on Twitter were complaining about the shuttle service for Lollapalooza, so beware. Walking from the Boulogne Jean Jaurès station is probably the most convenient access from Paris. (you also have the T2 tramway from Suresnes across the river.)

Quoterebelrebel Quoteslewanwell, that's a complete new concept. The song vote was: Wild Horses Angie Ruby Tuesday Fool To Cry at least that's was up to vote for at the beginning It was changed the day after that was put up and included Beast Of Burden. So you're saying the vote was fair and transparent.

Having the main screen set up so far back of the stage and partially out of view of much of the audience is really weird. Thanks to all those tracking streams.

Quotespain73 Hi everybody... I'd like to go from Port Dauphine (Metro) to Hippodrome by walking. I know it is a 50 min walking (is it righ?) ,,, but after the show will people walk that avenue? Is it a dangerous place by night? Allée Longchamp I mean... Should I try another way to get there? Don't mind a little walking... I'm a bit surprised at all this talk of the Bois de

Thanks to IORR for keeping us all posted. Got my Dips for Paris without a hitch. I swore the last shows I saw five years ago would be the last, but...

QuoteTopi A reputed French radio host "ByZegut" says: "The Rolling Stones 25 juin 2022 Garorock ?" I'm too old for this festival in the middle of nowhere stuff now. Eek.

Thanks for all your work, bv. Don't let the turds get under your skin. We have a saying in French : « Les chiens aboient, la caravane passe. » Dogs bark, the caravan moves along. Let 'em bark.

This one still works: (thanks Green Lady) Tumbling Dice : Mick launches into the chorus a verse too soon. No harm done.

I'm not sure why they choose to play Trouble's A-Comin', a totally unremarkable soul tune, which sort of works by the Chi-Lites only because of their sweet mellow sound, but otherwise doesn't have much going for it. (thank you Green Lady for the links !)

Mick screws up and they laugh it off during 19th Nervous Breakdown.

They've had to go over and rework the arrangements and are playing faster, and they're sounding good. So that's nice to see.

Steve Jordan is sounding great, but it's such a bummer without Charlie. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

This US fall tour does not feel right to me, though I'd understand if they maintained it. But this is no longer the Rolling Stones. I do feel like they should have a big send-off in London next year. Have plenty of guests over, pay tribute to Charlie, and call it a day.

Sounds like a song off that Mick multi-artist project from a couple of years back (I find it impossible to remember the name of that band). Not my cup of tea, but still glad to get a new track.

I think part of what makes the video successful is the Stones' interiors : none of those bland, blank-walled megamansions many of the other performers were playing in. Mick in a tamely-lit rocker's lair, Ronnie in his weirdly-shaped home with his artwork and random ornaments, Keith in a retired pirate's salon with pint and book, and Charlie in the cabinet of the jazz-minded country
