Jackass....do you have any idea from 1970 on how lonley I felt musically not being part of the I love The Police, EJ, Yes and I will add the Moody Blues and EL&P to thatt list. It was tough to be a sixties rocker with all that going on. Thanks for listing those....I don't feel as alone.

Sorry basspalyer...was that meant for me? Was not sure of the context. I hope my selection of my favorite moment was not construde as a critisism. The point was I loved those small little call outs to the other band members the way it used to be and it helped take the song to another level for me. I just want more of the same.

There are so many good ones but I have a sort of simple one. There is no greater joy for me than kick butt R&R. Neibours in this case. Something sorefully lacking in flat out R&R these days is the front man making like a front guy. I mean calling the shots. The song is screeming along and the front man calls out for screeming guitar, then ques the next verse with a vocal que and later

My grandfather's uncle was a guy named Frank Desprez. You can google him and his work. He wrote short operetta's to be performed before Gilbert and Sullivan musicals. He was British and I understand his work is still performed regularly there. He also wrote Lascara, the state poem of Texas. Funny side story...sorry Texans. Seems some Texas university prof as trying to undersatand why

Unfortunatly I have not been able to put a collection together. I have put bids in on Ronnie and Keith on EBAY but have been out bid every time. Some day I hope to collect them all. Saintmick said it all.

Demon....these guys are from another time and place. Little Richard has been on a defensive stance about his position since Elvis ripped him. Do they talk like that in front of each other? Consider a story from Eric Burdon telling how he was so thrilled that he would be on the bus with Chuck and Jerry Lee for their first tour of England. He had been talking to Chuck when Jerry Lee got on the bus

My airbanding predates Risky Business to about 1960 so I have some experience. I do find Keith more intersting to airband to. Placing a hot Stones tune on the player I will drop into a deep knee bend for the kids. It looks and feels alot better than trying the idot moves the bands they watch pull off, the head banging, jumping up and down...just too hard to airband at 50. Stick to players closer

All I can add is the one time I saw them do the BtoB computer pick, it was Under MY Thumb and they had to shut it down midsong due to technical problems getting the keyboard volume correct. Probably the most unprofetional embarasing thing I have ever seen a band do.....wow a whole show? I did go see a guy in a bar once that could play 32 bars of anything, played everything the croud yelled out

I have two copies of this show on CD and the DVD. If I had not been at this show I would not have bothered, I'm not sure there is a good copy as I have heard the soundtrack for the bad DVD is used for the CD's. OH ya I have it on VHS as well and that mirrors the other two. It was a great guitar show but unless there is a audience cut somewhere I can't see much difference.

Please don't strech out short songs. With set lists and performance times shortning and so many songs worth playing I really wish they would quit drawing out songs that are traditionaly shorter. I love the classic MR's and Sympathy but taking Satisfaction or Tumbling Dice and trying to make a long song just gets boring for me. I can see one drawn out finnaly for effect but would preffer

LSD has two main effects, a body stone variable in intensity depending on the type and of course hallusinations. A common misconception is that LSD is screwing with your mind to create the hallusinations (it does not affect spelling). What it realy does is trigger a small glad on the back of your eye that releases an oily substance onto the back of the eye, this oily surface filters what you see

This is hilarious... First of all I am siding with the Beatles who manufactured it and stated it was essencial for spiritual developement and creativity. As a drug to play live it sucked and this is where songs like Innagodadavita came from, guys looking at a guitar neck that was acting like spaggetti, loosing track of time and playing solo's for 20 minutes. I come from a group that d

With all the 'who is or was a Stone' Debate I had to pass this little bit of Canadian humour. I'm watching the Red Green Show Special recap show...Hindsite is 20/20. I believe this show is in syndication so you may have seen it, if not check out the web site. One thing we Canucks love to do is make fun of ourselves and this show is truly Canadian sterotyping at it's best ( if

First I say to myself 'Forgive them Lord, they know not what they do' ( I bet I even blew that quote and you can substitute Brian's name and I do not think it would constitue blastfamy). Second, I love the Stones so much I do not get angry, they are entitled to their opinion. I actually get this smile on my face like 'I know something you don't" or what a shame th

On an old topic regarding tab and sheet music I mentioned I had the sheet for Desperado and it had great guitar cords which captured the subtle piano changes. I'm at the office and transfering the lyrics and chords....will have them tommorrow....no.... I'm off until Tuesday.....email me.

Gazza....I like these stories, and I've heard a few about artists going the extra mile to ensure fans get the good seats. Even though I'm not American, or more specifically a New Yorker, frankly not even a fan of Bruces music......but I do respect him, he knows and respects his fan base, a certain integrity you don't see these days. It is quite a dilema, would the Stones be as b

Thanks Demon.....interesting quotes I had not heard. From what I saw in his eyes when he was relating the MT quiting while he was talking to Mick story, he did seem star stuck at what was opening up.

I guess you have to look at the names on the contracts vs. the music. Which governs who is a Stone. Demon....one sincere question, if Ronnie was such an obvious choice why did they wait some 17 years to cut him in on the bucks?

Gazza....I too thought ticket control was the key. Believe it or not the folks most pissed about it and working on changing it are Ticketmaster. Mainly because there is a perception that they are to blame. Turns out it's the legit ticket brokers. They post rates for tickets. If you can get a $300.00 ticket they will give you $350.00. They have hundreds of folks in each town with multiple

Regarding the conversation on comparing years. I caught a TV show explaining the rise in ticket prices just prior to the Licks tour. The show interviewed Paul M. the Stones, Lenny K, Dave M., et. It seems the sharp rise is in direct responce to big ticket bands who feel they can charge big bucks to compensate them for the percieved loss of income to ripping of their recorded music. They cou

I'm looking for the change point, not always music: a) Beatles - song writing and recording technology b) Dylan with The Band - one of the biggest shifts in rock direction, you can line all the grung, punk, heavy metal, acid rock, et. up behind this event. c) Stones - big venue stage/sound technology, sex drugs and R&R d) Greatfull Dead - for hiring the Angels ultimatley killing th

I'm sorry but the big ticket loosers for LL's was a Canadian going to a US show. Mayfair, you mentioned Tacoma, I had $300.00 US, 14th row tickets and it was a kick ass show, even Keith declaired they had a real show going but there was another dimmention to the ticket price. After I ordered my $300.00 US ticket for Tacoma I noted that the Toronto show was listed on the same ticket b

I often refer to some guitar as reaching 'orchastrational' levels sometimes. One or two screeming guitars creating a full orchastrated sound.Neil does this more consistantly than anybody else. Now I've never been 'cowgirl'd' in the sand. I think they prefere hay. California girls will do it in the sand.

Thank you BobM and Riffhard72. Never have thought about the Stones as dance music. Sounds like Riff and myself had the same dance teacher. Just before a Halloween Party this year I distributed my 7 CD retrospect of Stones tunes to my freinds. A set was at the party and when they put it on it changed the party for the worse. I sat on the couch stating I hoped they did not put this on for me bec

I thought I would put the boot AC/DC SARS show on for the kids, to try and keep them in the living room long enough to decorate the christmas tree. Yes it's tough to instill good old traditional values like an AC/DC tree decoration on kids today. Well the AC/DC turned into the Rush show and I can't go to bed with Rush as the last musical influence so on went the Stones show. I had pr
