QuoteNilsHolgersson How hard could it be to come up with a few rockers, a ballad, a blues song and a country tune? Maybe they're trying to sound fresh and modern, using drum'n'bass, techno sounds ... only the boys know

My first time experience seeing the Stones was one year later during the Urban Jungle tour and the European Steel Wheels part in Berlin. I was 17 and not even close to thinking what'll be going to be happening next year. So, 2020 was rather kind of science fiction topic :-)

QuoteKingbeebuzz I have been wondering why Out Of Time has never been played live by the Stones. It was a number one hit in 1966 and one of the really outstanding tracks on Aftermath. .... OOT was never released as a single by the Stones. Hence, the information it'd have been a No.1 hit refers only to Chris Farlowe's version, doesn't it?

I don't see any reason to buy it. If there were unseen video footages from the studio recordings or LIB songs played during the NA tour 1969 (not the versions from "Gimme Shelter"), or even unreleased songs or song versions I'd definitely go with it. In this case, no.

Undeniably, Mick Jagger has written lots of great lyrics. He might not be as poetic as Dylan but did outstanding lyrical contributions to the band's music. Anybody on this board denying he's great ability in lyric writing has either never written a song by him/herself or should piss off! The greatest songwriters ever: Bob Dylan Jagger/Richards Lennon/McCartney Leonard Cohen

Quoteliddas 1. Beggars: best of Stones w Brian, and Stones w Brian are my fav version of the band. 2. Exile: best of Stones w/o Brian. Could even be my fav rock LP ever. 3. Fingers: the Back in Black of the Stones. Side 1 is perfect. Side 2 almost. 4. Bleed: like a woman that everybody considers stunning, and IS stunning, a woman that I should feel ashamed to confess I don't like, y

I was 10 years old when my father played some best-of album. Paint It Black has been stuck in my brain since that moment. I was so hooked by the melody/riff, I needed to listen to it again several days later but didn't know the song's name. So, I listened to the complete album. Again and again and again and again and again ... That was the ignition point making me a Stones fan. For ever

That's pretty tough as the Stones has some many great songs in the 1970s. I'd go like this: Angie Memory Motel Ain't Too Proud To Beg Star Star Just My Imagination Miss You 100 Years Ago Time Waits For No One Hand Of Fate Lies

I refused to purchase the Beggars Banqut so called Deluxe Box Set due to missing specialties. It's the same with that one. Why the hell shall I buy a box set containing of basically four times the same songs? Because of a nice booklet? Don' think so.

QuoteHis Majesty QuotePalace Revolution 2000 IMO there is no doubt that it is Keith on both guitars. The electric guitar has the great clean trebly sound when he is playing the arpeggios in the chorus; picking on the upper strings. Then for the second verse he lays out. For novice 20 year songwriters this is a superb example of dynamics: that he stops and waits to come back in. What is my poin

Both album have their highlights and weaknesses. It makes little sense to compare song to song. It's more the overall mood and expression of an album that leaves a superior feeling. Moreover, it's always individual taste in rating an album. I always liked GHS better than IORR but wouldn't say that the latter is their worst 1970s album. B&B is worse than IORR ...

Quotedeardoctor I searched about 4 years for that tune. In 1995 I found the single in strassbourgh and payed a horrible price. It was worth. It was the similar time when I found the IORR/TTLN single record in a small shop in Prague, after years of searching. Fortunately, I paid a comparably small price. Always liked that track, especially MT's singing Gibson after the last verse ...

I always rated that album as one of the weaker ones. IMO, Under Cover is an attempt to capturing the spirit of time but heavily lacks ideas. There are some good songs, e.g. Too Much Blood, She Was Hot but most aren't more than fillers, particularly as most songs sound like variations of older ones. Never got into it although I tried a couple of times.

QuoteHairball QuoteRisingStone As almost everybody knows, Rocks Off is the opening track of EOMS. Is it that less known than GOOMC or Bitch among the general public — even if it wasn’t released as a single (except in Japan)? I wouldn’t be surprised that ER will resurface among the choices for the future song vote along the way no matter what wins. Off the top of my head, Rocks Off has never

Memory Motel is the true highlight of that show. I particularly like the part when Mick forces Keith to sing the bridge a third time after the second verse/chorus. Keith's reaction in boxing Mick friendly and commenting "three times ...aha, well" is unbeatable :-)

Indeed, nice story, although it includes some wrong facts (e.g. Brian was NOT born in a London suburb as Cheltenham is close to the Welsh border). The book mentioned in the article (Sympathy For The Devil) is an aweful work. Stopped reading after around a third.
