People, it's a live recording. Not perfect (and they never are) but a spectacular event that we get to listen to over and over again. A great document from nearly 40 years ago. Since when is that a bad thing? I listen to shitty crowd recordings and muddle through them to enjoy the show. This is something to be grateful to have.

I can happily say that the Wembley show is excellent!!!! As Neil Young once said "Live music is better. Bumper sticker will be issued".

I actually have thought about this quite a lot. Keith's problem is confidence which is an affliction to many performers. If you listen to him on the '71 British tour he soloed quite a lot. They were typically the Chuck Berry style solos that Keith most often did at the time (like on Bitch and Let it Rock) and the number of solos he had were basically the same as Mick Taylor whose sol

At least Mick could add vocals to the outtakes and no one would know the difference!!!!!!!

I'm just happy they decided to release a different live show instead of how they repacked the same Brussels show for GHS. Makes me think when they get around to IORR they might put a different '75 tour show!!!!

The story of the 1972 MSG recording is well know (if even factual) from a stolen tape from the board. I have 2 question regarding this: 1. Why has the first half of the show never surfaced? 2. If the tape was actually stolen I would think the thief would be a legend even more well known than Mike Millard. How come this legend of a human being never come forward to claim the well

Sometimes I'll pick a song and play numerous versions over and over. I've done that with LIV many times. The highlight to me of all of the 1978 versions is Ian Stewart's piano on Garden State '78. The piano is mixed in so far out front and it has such a amazing small club feel to it unlike any other version. Nicki also has a great mix on the Welcome to NY version that is s

That really is amazing!!! It does suggest there is a boatload of Robert Frank film sitting in a vault somewhere in pristine condition

My take is completely different. You have a band that hadn't played live in a year and a half playing songs that were completely new handcuffed by only one person playing guitar in front of an audience that wasn't just a bunch of screaming teens. I think it's amazing. The colors are wonderful and a perfect capturing of the late 60's coming of age Stones. Keith was proving

Another shitty unlistenable album instead of all of the great live music deteriorating in the vaults somewhere

Every once in a while a put on one of the Stones last handful of albums and all I can think of is how mediocre (or worse) these albums are. There are treasure troves of amazing live music in their vaults. It would be so much better to release these live shows rather than another terrible, unlistenable album. Please no!!!!!!!

Quote24FPS Quoteyearsinthemaking The Brussels version is one of the absolute highlights in the history of the Stones on stage. From the very first intro notes, Mick warming up on the Harmonica and says "we're very quick, aren't we" and then Keith slides his fingers down the guitar in a way I can't think of him doing again to kick off the actual song it's fantastic.

I agree with dcba. This is likely someone's personal 8mm film and obviously stored in great condition with the colors being just perfect. It's sad that today you could store more video on your phone than exists of the Stones prior to 1981 combined. I don't think the Dick Cavett crew would've been allowed to film the whole show. More likely than not they were invite

Popular culture references In music In 1980, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote a song about Spider Sabich's death that was intended to be on the Rolling Stones album Emotional Rescue. The song, titled "Claudine," carried lyrics that painted a graphic picture of some of the more salacious aspects of the affair and killing. It was deemed too controversial and was removed, althou

It was recorded during that prolific Some girls period. Maybe they were thinking about putting it on ER as well as SG and failed both times. It's just my recollection from 1980. Not necessarily correct

I was listening to the Emotional Rescue album (quite underrated) and I was trying to remember what song was added when they decided at the last minute to leave off "Claudine"? I can remember some radio broadcast at the time saying that the Stones were worried about legal troubles from Claudine Longet but I don't recall the replacement song. My suspicion is "Indian Girl"

At the risk of offending some I'll be bluntly honest. The Stones are so far removed from making good music, live or in studio, that I wouldn't consider paying money to see them. There are far too many bands to see in clubs or on stage that are making good new music and playing their instruments well. Neither of which apply to the Stones of 2021. I would equate watching the Stones of

Very interesting article written by a very young Jon Landau. His insight into the Stones at such a young age as well of his knowledge and awareness of music at that moment in time is quite impressive. Also kind of funny that the review was 3-4 months after the release. I guess another time another place!!!

You know, when GHS came out I fooled myself in to thinking they would release the London show instead of Brussels again. Now I keep wasting brain matter hoping they will release the full Roundhouse show. Why do I even consider suck nonsense?

I’m sure there will be some greedy release with nothing worthwhile. A polka dot vinyl or a zipper that goes the opposite direction
