I have already cancelled 'Paris' but will not allow the delays to get me down. Play 'Beggars Banquet/Let it Bleed/Sticky Fingers/London Years on CD and also watch ' 4 Flicks' DVD which is absolutely brilliant. I realise that doing both cannot compare with the experience/atmosphere of listening/seeing the 'Stones' live in concert but it is the next best thin

Please remember an early report that Charlie Watts had a promise from Keith that this would be the last big world tour and he would be free from Dec. 2006 away from the 'Stones' circus. Therefore if as many have suggested that the 'Stones' should abandon the European tour and relign it for 2007 in fullscale alignment then just consider that perhaps it would be impossible to

What an emotive heart wrenching song ' Blinded by Rainbows really is. This song is full of pure emotion and the lyrics fully sum up acts perpetrated by terrorists who use religion as a vehicle to wage vengeance upon innocent people.

Back in 1967 when pop critics were trying to comprehend what the earth 'Gomper ' was all about some knowledgeable people described it as being full of organ sighs and the mystery of Tibet. At that particular mysterious phschedelic time who the hell really knew what this song was all about. Songs by Jagger/Richards after 'She a Rainbow/2000 Light Years from Home were so indoctor

We need to get ourselves together,be patient and realise what Keith is likely to be going thru. Shit happens i had an operation 27/5/05 to remove a lump, fortunately for me is was benign and i was back at work after 4 weeks. However if i had not been sitting at a desk using mental skills rather than physical ones then i would have been have off for 12 weeks. Keiths head operation could tak

This is one mixed up song as per say were the skinny english cats at the time. Brian Jones plays Tabla,Flute,Mellotron & sitars on Gomper. Nicky Hopkins was on organ. Lead vocal was Mick & background vocals Mick & Keith Bass played by Bill Wyman and Keith on electric guitars No sign of Charlie on this track (Jagger, Richards) By the lake with lilly flowers Wallow away th

How anyone can interpret /dissect the lyrically content of 'Jumpin Jack Flash' borders on the realms of impossible. Only Mick Jagger has a clue as to what the lyrics really mean and he has been asked umpteen times to explain what the story is he is telling and we have never received a true response. The song has an urgent beat, juddering twangs, wailing harmonica, maracas and Mi

Article in New Musical Express 14/1/1967 P12 PLease Go Home - The Bo Diddley sound with shades of Dr Who from the sound effect department. Lots of echo ,lots of beat,Lots of dance appeal. Mick Jagger states 'That high pitched whine on it is Charlies wife screaming . Whether Mick was winding up the NME music reporter or telling the truth only he & Shirley Watts really know.

Both albums contain songs that are brilliant, some that are average & some that are just mediocre. Suggest you buy IORR then GHS but be prepared for the fact that both only contain 50% excellent tracks. Mind you that is constructive critism bearing in mind how can you possibly follow up the overall quality of the songs on the big four. We were not entitled to the masterpieces on Beggars Ba

I was on holiday in Belgium 1964 and could not stop playing the Juke Box in the pub in Ostend and played the songs 'The Last Time'/Play with Fire' over 100 times. I recall one mature woman who was in my fathers company stating tell your son to stop playing that shreiking wailing song sung by these long haired unwashed louts who have absolutely no talent and that they would j

Beggars Banquet versus Let it Bleed. How can you compare two masterpiece albums by the 'Stones' They are both different in content and variety of songs yet they contain some of the skinny english cat's best handywork. Sympathy for the Devil,Street Fighting Man,No Expections,Stray Cat Blues,Factory Girl on Beggars are still as fresh & strong today as they were in 1968. G

I could be wrong withsssoul -perhaps it was Brian on kazoo as my memories from these years are sometimes cloudy. What a wonderful summation/interpretation you have posted of Between the Buttons & about the 'Stones' exploring themselves during the heady times of 1966/1967. Yes the skinny english cats were heading towards more experimentation with their psychedelic album later in 1

Between the Buttons is a most underated album with the Jagger/Richard songwriting team exploring many varied avenues. 'Back Street Girl' is one of the most thoughful compositions fro Mick/Keith. The lyrics are sad, reflective and sung to nostalgic accordion, acoustic guitar and tambarine. 'Yesterday's Papers' opens with a very simple drum and bass effect which is ac

There is always conjecture/false rumours with anything to do with the 'Stones but this was expected. Remember back withsssoul to the message i sent when the Wembley fiasco was discussed & many posters thought that the Stones would just delay & comeback in 2007. The main sources from IORR/Shidoobee also gave us all a big clue when thet also stated that ABB would be the last bi

Stones tour shock 15apr06 ROLLING Stones drummer Charlie Watts is to quit the global touring circuit in December. Mr L on Shidoobee will be pleased to know that the biggest selling album in the world for 2005 was x & y by Coldplay with 8.3m sales. Tis a real strange business when an album of songs with no real guts and glory about them can sell to extreme. The music business has always been fickle but nowadays acts such as Coldplay & James Blunt have become forefront in music sales and trends with

phd there are still plenty of tickets available on Ticketmaster via Rolling Stone.com for both Wembley Concerts. Shrewd financial guy M.Cohl will not have backed himself or the Stones into a corner by selling 140,000 tickets for concerts that might not take place. If Wembley is confirmed as being on schedule for Mid August.06 there will be a flood of tickets pouring into the open market. To s

Reserve location for 2 concerts is still Twickenham if Wembley is not ready. Twickenham holds 50,000 for concerts and suspect that tickets released for Wembley concerts are not in excess of that. Anyway its all speculation and we must await an official announcement by M.Cohl/The Stones.

For the whiners who think that the Stones are listening to to your views about set lists then think again. When you have enjoyed a good thing for so long familiarity breeds comtemt and we often start to critise out of necessity rather than fairness. In the past 5 decades i have yet to leave a Stones concert feeling anything other than pure satisfaction . Y

Bill Wyman was great Bass player for the 'Stones' and it is a pity that he feels that he did not receive the credit for helping with improving songs such as 'Jumpin Jack Flash & Pain't it Black. Obviously millionare Bill does regret that he left the 'Stones' after 30 Years with out receiving extra plaudits for part participation in above songs. He is now soun

There is no actual recorded date that above happened which i really doubt. John Lennon & Paul McCartney wrote 'I Wanna be Your Man' for the Stones while in the studio visiting them in 1963. Recorded on October 7, 1963. Released as UK single on November 1, 1963, went to number 12 on the charts. Detail does leave dates open to conjecture.
