This was a beautiful farewell and tribute to the great Charlie Watts, held at Charlie’s favorite jazz club in London. How perfect. For all you TMZ wannabes, commenting on hair, clothes and cosmetic procedures, start a new thread about that. This thread is to acknowledge a special evening with Charlie’s family and friends, and I think it was all quite lovely and touching.

QuoteMisterDDDD . . . Don't disagree on the musical aspect and other points you make, but if she was a blond white girl, the vitriol would have been short-lived if much at all imo. This is very true based on my recollection. I was quite young, but the tremendous hatred that was aimed at her was staggering, and people called her ugly and far worse. Had she been a pretty blond white gir

I didn’t discover this forum until 2003 when I met some fans in Stockholm who told me about it. I followed/read/lurked for many years and didn’t actually register until 2015.

Up until this album, I was just a young kid buying 45s. The first two Stones albums I ever bought were LIB and Ya-Ya’s. I cannot begin to tell you the impact these two masterpieces had on me. LIB influenced my musical tastes like no other album. I love SF, BB, Exile, but LIB was my first real musical love. It is still my favorite Stones album.

Hi. Julie originally from Philadelphia, now living in Southern California. First saw the Stones in 1972 when I was 15 years old at the Spectrum in Philly. Have seen them 60 times. These are the cities and venues: Philadelphia (Spectrum, First Union Center, Wachovia Center, JFK Stadium, Veterans Stadium), New Jersey (Atlantic City Convention Center, Meadowlands, Shea Stadium, Giants Stadium,

Concerts are meant for the audience at the show, not for people reading about them online or watching videos. A friend of mine who had seen the Stones about 100 times or more was there. His comment to me was “F*cking WOW. Same old set list but they nailed it like the old days. Sound was perfect!” So it wasn’t a disappointment or a shame for him. And that’s all that matters is how the audience th

Sasha doesn’t have the vocal range that Lisa does. I prefer Lisa, but Sasha does fine. Her stage presence has improved a lot since she first started with the Stones. I always find that her mike isn’t turned up enough though. Can never hear her that well.

Another tour has finished. Now comes the great emptiness. First there were the tour rumors. Then the tour announcement and scramble for tickets. Then weeks of waiting for the tour to start. Then either attending the shows or watching the live streams, reading the set lists, reading the reviews of the fans, and this going on for 3 months. And suddenly, it’s over. Until the rumors begin for the 60

The Who were a very good studio band. The Stones are a phenomenal live band. That’s why I’ve seen The Who twice and I’ve seen the Stones 60 times. Mediocre my ass!

First ever was very special and got me totally hooked: Philadelphia Spectrum July 21, 1972. … What did the sound system at the 1972 show sound compared to the 2013 show. And do the bootlegs from the 1972 show capture the sound live.Does the Ladies and Gentlemen filmed concerts do justice to that tour Honestly, I was 15 and simply me

QuotePer-Arne Best show: Cirkus Krone - Munich 2003 Best performance of a song: That's how strong my love is - Cirkus-Stockholm 2003 67 shows so far - And still counting! Per Arne I agree: it was quite a treat to hear That’s How Strong My Love Is. That was a great show and one of my favorites. I think I’ll listen to my bootleg of that one now!

Impossible to pick just one! First ever was very special and got me totally hooked: Philadelphia Spectrum July 21, 1972. First time up close, small theater show, amazing set list: Stockholm Cirkus, July 22, 2003. Front row center of Tongue Pit with some great friends: Anaheim, Honda Center, May 15, 2013. 60 Stones concerts. I’d say 5 were good and 55 were great. In looking at my l

Quotejmd QuoteJadedFaded Getting out of SoFi from the floor was a nightmare. Getting out of Allegiant from the floor was a piece of cake. Much better stadium! Wish I had had the “problem” of comparing/contrasting getting out of Sofi and Allegiant from the floor. (Very happy with my Lucky Dips for both LA 1 and Vegas though…) Can’t help but think there would be no Sofi without digging a 100’

Quotepodiumboy I wonder what the attendance split at the 2 LA shows was? I’d have to think something like 30,000 at night 1 and 50,000 at night 2, right? The 17tg was pretty much sold out, whereas the 14th had a long way to go. Just wondering if anybody knows anything. People who were there, what did you see? Etc Hard to tell really. Was in the pit on the 14th and all the up high seats loo

QuoteDan QuoteJadedFaded I think the Stones crowd was maybe a little too old (myself included) for appreciating Maneskin. They said they’ve been working with Iggy Pop. I think I have a Stooges album but haven’t listened to it in like 40 years. There was some slight buzz here when they were on a late night show so I looked up their Roxy show and there was a sole resale ticket for 500$. While

On my way out of town early Sunday morning, I saw a sign for “Ghost Town Cafe” as I was headed toward a Chevron gas station about 15 miles south of the Strip. Didn’t get a picture though. I am looking forward to listening to Daspy’s recording of the show to hear if Sasha could be heard while she was out on the B stage with Mick. I was in pit 2 and she was barely audible there. I was very

Miss you, when Darryl was doing his solo ...(although, I didn't see any photo, it was on the video....... Yes, they both sat during the bass solo, but earlier, I can’t remember

That Centra bar was LOUD. Somehow I did manage to find Daspy. Thanks so much for those CDs, Daspy! Sorry we couldn’t find the rest of you. Great show again. My last for this tour. It was my #60 so that made it extra special for me.

Quoteangee Quotesarahunwin Is the Centra bar at the Luxor still happening as a gathering spot after the show? Yes. I'll be there after the show, at least to check in! I look forward to meeting you all in person after the show. Just give me time to get there. It took forever to get out of the pit in LA, so it may take a while here too. But I will be looking for everyone at the Centra Bar.
