What a great tour! I am so heartbroken that I had to miss it, but following along here was some consolation. Congratulations to The Rolling Stones for 60 years of the best rock and roll music in the world!

Quotewaterrats Sorry for posting this quite off topic, but I found this pic particularly funny... Title: "When you’re a rock star but your opponent is Alain Delon, (1968)." Twitter That’s what happens when your socks don’t match.

Quotekeefriffhards This just shows how much Ronnie and Keith have deteriorated without Charlie, and how much Lisa is missed, listen to Gimme Shelter in 2014 and then listen to recent ones, it's a world of difference. Thanks for posting the link to this 2014 Tel Aviv concert. I’d not seen this one before and yes, the combination of Charlie, Lisa, and truly great guitar work by Keith

The photo of Mick and Keith hugging is quite moving. Think of what this concert meant to them. It all started for them in London and, sixty years later, they are still going strong back where it all began. Congratulations to the Band and to all the fans who were able to be there celebrating this incredible achievement with them!

Just watched Matt Lee’s video of Gimme Shelter on YouTube. Chanel Haynes was absolutely fantastic! Best version of GS I’ve heard in a long time. Perfect voice for it.

I wish you a speedy recovery, Mick! I hope the rest of the band haven’t caught it too. To all the fans who traveled so far, so very sorry for you. Man, I hate this virus. It just keeps on f*cking things up!

I’d pay a lot to be in the front row. I’d pay less the further back I was. As I am not tall, way in the back isn’t good for me.

I was there in Philly. It was a really really hot day. By the end of the day, I can’t tell you how many people were horribly sunburned. But it was a great day of music. The lines for the restrooms were super long during Black Sabbath’s set.

I love both studio and live, but if forced to choose one, I’d say live. I have to pick Ya-Ya’s because of the impact it had on me when I first heard it as a young teen. One of the most intriguing and powerful songs I’d ever heard. Man, the 70s were awesome musically!

I’ve got it on VHS. Showed it to some fan friends a few years back who had never seen it before. They were literally rolling on the floor laughing. Very campy, to say the least.

We all miss Charlie terribly. But Mick and Keith performing the greatest rock and roll songs ever written, songs that they themselves wrote, that is The Rolling Stones. There have been many, many changes over these six decades, but I have always enjoyed and appreciated seeing my favorite band play live. And how wonderful for young people to get to experience the Stones in concert for the first t

QuoteDan Was this the Saban? I was there! But I got in maybe during the second song (last minute decision) My friend was inside and flipping out because she bought his records in the 1980's and had no idea he was opening. California Center for the Arts in Escondido, CA. Lovely theater.

Congrats to all who have gotten tickets and good luck to all who will be getting tickets. It’s been a long time since I’ve missed a tour, and the 60th anniversary tour is a helluva tour to miss, but sadly, I can’t leave home for more than one or two nights, so Europe is out of my reach this summer. But I will be following the tour here on iorr and I know it will be a fantastic tour. Enjoy!

I went to see Buddy Guy the other night. Pre-show, the venue was playing Stones music, which was really enjoyable. The opening act was the Colin James Band and they were on fire! They rocked the house hard. I was not familiar with Colin James. Great guitarist! I was impressed with the harp playing by the bassist while he played the bass. Not many musicians can do that. Does anybody know the name

I have often thought how very very lucky I am to have been born when I was because when I was in my teens, there was a musical renaissance going on. On the radio every day I got to hear the Stones, the Beatles, The Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Byrds, CS&N, CSN&Y, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Doors, Aretha Franklin, the Supremes, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Bob Dylan,

Omicron is really spreading quickly. After 18+ months of everyone being so careful, suddenly I know more and more people who are coming down with COVID (luckily no serious illness amongst my friends as they are all vaccinated). At the gym, I never stopped wearing a mask there, but now that masks are once again required here in indoor public places, I have been surprised that less than half th

This was a beautiful farewell and tribute to the great Charlie Watts, held at Charlie’s favorite jazz club in London. How perfect. For all you TMZ wannabes, commenting on hair, clothes and cosmetic procedures, start a new thread about that. This thread is to acknowledge a special evening with Charlie’s family and friends, and I think it was all quite lovely and touching.

QuoteMisterDDDD . . . Don't disagree on the musical aspect and other points you make, but if she was a blond white girl, the vitriol would have been short-lived if much at all imo. This is very true based on my recollection. I was quite young, but the tremendous hatred that was aimed at her was staggering, and people called her ugly and far worse. Had she been a pretty blond white gir

I didn’t discover this forum until 2003 when I met some fans in Stockholm who told me about it. I followed/read/lurked for many years and didn’t actually register until 2015.
