QuoteDandelionPowdermanIt was leaked in 2014.. Is it known when the songs/files/whatever originally got to the entity from whom they where leaked in 2014? Same year or earlier? Just wondering - when the basic leak took place in 2014 only it could have happened in the course of Mick/Keith activities reviewing leftovers from earlier sessions for potential use on a new album.

Yeah, you may be right (hopefully). <If Don't Stop and Keys to Your Love were deemed worthy by the band, worthy enough to make it on to a Greatest Hits album> Maybe by the one man band only Keith perhaps didn't care a lot because he had his solo spot making up for 25% of the new material on 40 Licks I'm speculating now - I could even imagine that it was clear that

QuoteGazza As far as I recall, all the songs on Talk is Cheap are credited to Richards-Jordan, so they evidently worked as a songwriting team on those sessions. Keith even said so in interviews back then. Like, he doesn't like to write songs all by himself, that in the Stones Mick is his songwriting partner and in the Winos it's Jordan. He also described how they just jammed or fooled

QuoteIanBillen With that said the songs we have here are not album worthy. They are songs .. played by The Rolling Stones .. that are all B stock material. It isnt album worthy and they are not album worthy songs. Ian, you're so harsh! I don't even mind the muffled singing. Dylan is doing that for 50+ years on his official releases and gets away with it ... Of course Mick's

Yeah, that would be cool with me - especially if I could determine the setlist! That would be the one show that opens with One Hit, it would have Melody in it, and Down In The Hole, Gun Face, Low Down, Dirty Work, Slave (with a jam in the end), Heartbreaker, ... and I would force them to premier a new song ... and no Satisfaction (heard it way too often) ... Hell, I have to talk to Ronnie!

QuoteRocky Dijon The Ronnie tune tried in 2002 was "Rehab Blues." It is not part of this collection. To judge from the title it wouldn't have been Stones album material anyway. Rather sounds like a therapeutic measure?

Didn't Keith say anyway that all Stones songs are cousins to each other? Well, some may even be closer than that, rather brothers and sisters, and a few may even be the result of inbreeding ...

If someone likes this stuff (no matter whether for exclusive £700 or 'plain' £15.99) why shouldn't they have it? There's nothing wrong with that. Money aside, it's simply not on the list of my artistic priorities.

What makes the (officially) unreleased tracks so attractive - to me - is also their raw nature: there's plenty of room for imagining what could have been. BAsically they're full/complete songs (lyrics aside) but the are not finished, rather like advanced draft versions. I could listen only via headphones so far. Tomorrow hopefully on my stereo, finally! I'm totally with you a

QuoteHairball Whats next? Can we expect to see him to start selling copies of his hand written grocery lists compiled in a £700 limited edition book? If they come in psychedelic colours there might be a market. Seriously now: if someone needs Ronnie's setlists so bad s/he would even pay £700, so be it. I'm not among those people.

QuoteRocky Dijon Mind you, I think it's obvious "Cried Out" is the embryonic "Laugh, I Nearly Died" May well be (Mick would have to tell us, I guess it's his song?), there are similarities but IMHO "Cried Out" could as well exist as a song in its own right. Cried Out has a riff that isn't there in Laugh (although it sounds like I heard it before). Al

I guess Just Before/Because is one of the songs where (at that stage) all the music came from Keith alone and Mick just would have had to come up with some lyrics, therefore Richards/Jordan only instead of Jagger/Richards/Jordan. QuoteHairballSomething tells me Mick might have ultimately written lyrics about roosters, cocks, titties, and beer, ... Titties and the rest yes but Mick and beer

QuoteHairball Either it's pretty darn good (my first impression), or we're just desperate after being deprived of new/original Stones tunes for what seems eternity.... Could be a combo of both scenarios ... After finally listening to the full set of songs, I think that that's a pretty good assessment. In my view, it's nowhere near a(n almost) finished lost album. QuoteHairball Reality Check: Either it's pretty darn good (my first impression), or we're just desperate after being deprived of new/original Stones tunes for what seems eternity. At this point, we would even enjoy a recording of Mick snoring out loud, Charlie snapping his fingers, Ronnie scratching his nails on a chalkboard, and Keith belching out loud! Could be a combo of

QuoteBjorn Well. they sure didn´t leak into my house...guess I´ll have to wait for the youtube-version... If you're using Mozilla Firebird and it doesn't work, try a different browser. My Firefox just took me to an empty page - panic, horror, have I missed it? - then other IORRians said the link's still active, and I tried with my old Opera and suddenly it worked.

Wasn't that rather for pragmatic reasons? Like, cooling down a bit, drying up the sweat, changing clothes, giving the voice a break, perhaps taking a leak or having a dose of oxygen, etc.? OK, so according to them, the latest Ask Keith video refers to the/a NY session with Mick in February. Informed statement or the same guesswork as ours? In case of doubt I'd stick to Fox Mulder('s poster), "I want to believe!"

It is pretty obvious that Gilmour's part was rather on the musical side of things. Of course it is correct that Waters wrote all the lyrics of DSOTM, but I prefer not to imagine what DSOTM would have sounded like if they would have been the lyrics to a Waters solo album. Musically I clearly prefer Dave's solo work but IMHO both of them were more interesting in a (somewhat balanced) F
