Quotetreaclefingers OK...here is the granddaddy of collectible versions of the FIRST DECCA album....The Rolling Stones - s/t - UK 1964 1st Press Decca LP 2A/1A Matrix: ? This just sold on EBAY for GBP 845 plus 19 shipping. Wow! It's notable for having the incorrect 'shorter' version of Tell Me, which I'd always thought was just an early fadeout or something but is ac

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteTitle5Take1 The Beatles' "1+" will be released tomorrow as well as the new James Bond movie "Spectre." New 007 and Beatles. Is it 1965? Thunderball and Yesterday? Actually.... The first Bond Movie (Dr No.) had its London Premiere on 5th October 1962. And that's the exact same day that The Beatles first single was released in the UK.

QuotePecman In general, when people of importance...stock holders, executives, partners etc...leave an ongoing continuing profitable entity...the general practice is their shares of the organization are sold back to the organization for a multiple of profits. The profits are the profits...it is the multiple that is negotiated...and they are bought out. Let me give some perspective as to why B

QuotePecman Guys...when Bill was in the group Ronnie was a salaried employee...when Bill left the group in 1993...they bought him out and gave his share to Ronnie Wood and made Wood a profit participant...this all happened at the end of 1993 and before the Voodoo Lounge Tour...don't you remember Wood saying at the time "it's a nice club to be a member now". QuoteIrix Quoteherecomesrichard Has anyone donated any items to Exhibitionism or know how to go about this? Since 'Exhibitionism' will be carried out by the Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), you could try to contact them: . Another possibility would be to contact the promoter of 'Exhibitionism', the australian 'iEC International Entertainment Consulting': .

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Trippy! What is the matter with people. This is the FOURTH thread about this Beatles event. For Clapton's sake, please check if something is already posted. BV - any chance of merging these threads. (And in case anyone thinks I'm anti-Beatles.... how wrong could you be. I manage to stand astride the two universes.

Quotenovica restored video, which is part of a new deluxe edition of their 1 compilation of chart-topping songs from the U.S. and U.K. The set has been expanded with a series of long-lost promotional films, which the Beatles called “mini movies.” Mick Jagger and Keith Richards – dropped by to see how things were progressing during the “A Day in the Life” shoot. Quotelatebloomer It's a nice pic of Bill, thanks for posting. As to driving in cemetaries, some of them are so big, it's just more practical to allow cars. Usually though, it's limited access to family members only. I have a parking pass for Arlington National Cemetary because my parents are buried there. Bill probably got a pass to drive in from someone close to Brian. Bit

DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY!! If you're in the UK, offer them to Bill Wyman. I'm certain he'd be interested. His email address is on his web site (at the bottom of the page).

Airbrushing Bill from the cover photo on 'Rarities'. Managing their corporate structure (just like Google, Facebook, Amazon etc etc ad nauseam) so that they pay only tiny amounts of tax. Anywhere. (And then when Ronnie was in a car accident in the UK making use of the taxpayer funded emergency services - effing hypochrites.)

Some of these Michael Copper photos (for sale) really do seem to answer the description 'not previously seen in public' (Strangely I was actually at Proud's 5 weeks ago and there was nothing around about this upcoming exhibition.)

Now half the women who go see the Stones and grandmas themselves and are probably taking their grandkids to see the show. lol With all due respect and admiration, I was somewhat shocked looking around at the audience in San Diego this year and seeing so many older people. QuoteFather Ted Keith Richards is from a generation when smoking was widespread and its long-term dangers not fully understood, at least not in the public domain. That really is nonsense. Keef's only a couple of years older than me. I had information things up about/against smoking in a house I bought in 1971! The generation argument does not apply. He smokes because he became add

My nomination is... Geoffrey Giuliano (Not really disagreeing about Clayson, which is a shame as his early books were good). Turning the thread on its head, one of the best Rock authors I've ever read was Tony Fletcher who wrote an excellent book about Keith Moon.

I'm sad to report the sudden and unexpected death of Andy Hoogenboom. Andy was one of the early Blues musicians in the orbit of Cyril Davis and Alexis Korner. He introduced Shirley to Charlie Watts and was Best Man at their (secret) wedding, and had been good friends ever since.

QuoteAnitapal82 I watched it today I bought it in Melbourne Australia. It's not Essential. The highlight is some silent live footage on stage in Sydney with many great close ups of the band for about 2 minutes with the backing of " I'm moving on" live from the Decembers children album ( I think ). With some footage of the stones at a party , And some press conference footage.

QuoteGreen Lady There's a story out there somewhere of George Harrison being asked to sign something and producing imitation signatures for all four Beatles because that's what they always used to do. That's definitely true. But it didn't take long for the process to be moved into the hands of Neil Aspinall (Nell).

Jozo, Whatever the outcome, the stuff you have got there is really nice. There's very little early Fan Club stuff in circulation. As for the autographs, if you're thinking of selling them, then Sotheby's or Christies will look at them and value them. Last time I checked they did that for free, but of course that may have changed. Bill Wyman is always interested in early
