I think BB has a slightly accoustic feel to it whereas even though JJF was technically recorded using an accoustic guitar it still feels too "electric" when compared to BB. I think that JJF would fit better on LIB than BB. In fact if you replaced Country Honk with HTW and put JJF as the first song of side 2 on LIB (keeping everything else as it is) you would have the greatest albu

This album comes bottom of the pile for me. The only good track on it is a cover version. Creatively they really hit a low point in the mid 80s. How much of that was to do with the bullshit going on in the background is hard to know but I'm sure it didn't help. I became a fan in 82, just missed the 82 tour and although I liked Still Life it was nothing compared to Ya Ya's so I coul

Can't help but wonder what direction his life would have gone in, had he not went for a swim that fateful night. Would he have pulled himself together or was it just a matter of time before he burned himself out? An awe inspiring talent and what a legacy he left in such a short time. RIP Brian, we love you.

I think it was Brian and/or Keith who said that when they first heard Johnson they thought it was 2 guitarists playing. Stop Breaking Down is my favourite Johnson track and I love the Stones version too. Clapton's version is also good, but the White Stripes one is a bit too overdriven and lacks groove. Sad that he had such a short difficult life. So many of the original bluesmen had it

The first half of the movie would be about the mid 60's, and the second half would chronicle the turbulent year of 1967 and end with the redemption of JJF and BB. First scene would be Keith dreaming the riff to Satisfaction, which would then evolve into the song of the opening credits. Final scene would be the JJF video and the closing credits would either be accompanied by SFM or SFTD

Not outtakes but you can find virtually a full concert from the Urban Jungle tour of 1990 here It is a BBC recording from the five concerts at Wembley that summer. Not sure if it's all from one concert or a composite from the five but the setlist order is identical to the concert on Saturday 7th July 1990, except 'Can't Be Seen' is missing. I think the link is only valid

A friend of a friend of my aunt spent an evening with Ronnie in a bar. This guy is apparently a massive Stones fan and at one stage Ronnie said to him "mate you know more about the Stones than I do".

Watching the video of Prodigal Son from MSG '69 got me thinking why don't they do a mini acoustic set in the middle where they can sit down. Two songs would prob work best. Short to average length songs. Ronnie and Mick for the first song then Keith and Mick for the second, Then straight to Keith's set. It would give Charlie, Daryl and backing musicians a break for two songs

Brilliant interview, thanks for sharing The older I get and the more I learn about Ronnie I think he would be the most fun out of all the Stones to be around. It's ironic that he no longer drinks because he seems to have aged like a fine wine and was phenomenal on the last tour.

Always thought Let It Bleed's cover somehow didn't fit with the album. Maybe if I had been a fan at the time and bought it when it came out I would feel different. SF, Exile, SG, GYYYO would be my favourite covers. The photograph with the open suitcase and other artefacts from the 69 tour would probably have been an even better and more fitting cover for GYYYO. Pity they didn't hav

What I find incredible about the second part of this song (if it really was a jam) is just how tight and perfect every single instrument is. It sounds more like a well rehearsed piece of music where everyone knows their parts and cues down to a T. Rather than some off the cuff jam. In fact it's almost so tight that it doesn't sound like the Stones!

Wembley 1990 - my first Stones gig. Luckily enough the BBC recorded those Wembley shows for radio and I have them as a reminder of what an epic performance they did.

Longevity. The 68 to 72 album run incl Ya-Ya's. Tunes like GS, JJF & PIB still being used as soundtracks of the darker side of the 60s. Easily the best rock n roll band to dance to - in other words their groove. Wide range of genre's - they have mastered them all and defined some. Brian's mid 60s use of exotic instruments. Surviving Nellcote. B n L - record

Keith talking to the crowd at Twickenham this year. The drum break in Just My Imagination on Still Life and the crowd response. Brian's parts on Lady Jane and No Expectations

Quoteexhpart Quotegeordiestone Last show i predict will be June 2062. Holograms? I was just thinking the same thing - but by 2062 they will probably have perfected AI and robotics to such a level that you will be able to go a "Stones" gig (or for that matter any other band incl the Beatles) and have a unique experience. What I mean is not just a gig recreated from old footage but a

I wonder if they have already made the decision that this is it for touring and that's why they look like they're enjoying every second of it - making the most of the last time. Charlie's interview before the tour where he said he could quite happily call time right now together with his health really makes me think that its possible he won't want and/or be able to go on. I
