Thank you! Still enjoy anything like this no matter how poor the video and audio. Loved the shot of the people to the right of the stage near the end who were really getting into it. Crowds shots in general fascinate me from the 69 tour. Its such a contrast to a few years earlier where it was mostly screaming teenagers. You can sense the huge shift that was occurring with live events and what peo

Quotegrandmeaulne Investigators, prosecutors, judges, courts, child psychologists reviewed the evidence. Over, and over, and over. And concluded the children had been coached by Farrow. It's not an opinion . It's verifiable. Have you seen the doc? The prosecutor at the time reviewed the evidence, including the video of 7 year old Dylan and concluded that there was probable cause t

He had less than a year and a half left of his life. Hard to marry this version of Brian (articulate, self aware) with the Brian who descended rapidly into incoherent chaos.

Fantastic, just had a quick skim thru for now and it sounds great, not least the little snippet of Rambler.

On the Still Life version the 8 bar "break" at about 3.10 is a goosebumps moment for me every time. The sax solo ends, and everything is stripped back to Charlie's kick drum, Bills bass groove and the 2 guitars are sheer perfection. The engineer mixed the crowd in perfectly.

Great interview with Lennon. Just think of all the great music he could have written in the last 40 years.

As this was my first Stones gig I have to wholeheartedly agree with the OP!(even if the date doesn't quite match the letter)

When they opened with SFM at the first London Stadium concert in 2018 it blew my mind and set the tone for a great night. Everything about the studio version is perfect including the closing bars which make one of the best outro's ever recorded. I was born in '68 so can only guess what it must have been like to hear it when it was released. It's one of those songs which expertly ca

Great video. Think the song would have made a better album opener than Dancing With Mr. D but SFTD, GS, BS and RO were an insane collection of opening tracks to follow on from.

You can argue about his choice of the best album for each era but he's more or less bang on with the timeline of each era and the overall verdict of each era. A good watch and well done to the guy/s who took the time to put it together.

Unfortunately looks like Van is yet another high profile covidiot. Hopefully he doesn't find out first hand about the seriousness of the virus. He is no spring chicken and also no stranger to a fish supper.

QuoteElmo Lewis Quotegeorgie48 Quotepaulspendel Burnt the day after he died. Witnessed and stated by Cotchford gardener Michael Martin. That's very well possible Paul. Brian owned at least three sitars. That's why I put that question. The sitar used during the song recording, however, is still alive and kicking and in possession of a special (indirectly to Brian) person, who maybe will

Love it, that style is so much like Robert Johnson. That man's influence on modern music is seismic. Great video, thanks.

Beautiful words from Stevie. The man exudes warmth and integrity - when he speaks it's always from the heart. Every time I hear or think of him I always think of 'I Don't Know Why" which in turn makes me think of Brian - it's all connected folks, we're all connected.

I was delighted to see that Colston statue come down. There had been efforts to do it democratically for years and nothing ever came of it. Sometimes direct action is the only way - Bristol police imo made the correct decision not to intervene but I accept others may disagree. Having statues of slave traders in the 21st century is utterly ridiculous and backward. The remaining ones should all be

Quotedmay Heard this for the first time in awhile the other day on a mix tape. It sounded good, but what struck me is how it's still the theme song for my life. Much as I love the Stones original, I really dig this cover for its groove. Brilliant version, a few other good covers on the album that it comes from.

A great version of UMT. I think some of the crowd shots may have been cut from The Stones In The Park.

What I would give to have been at that gig in Argentina. Wow, what a crowd! In a few close-up shots (had they been in black and white) you'd think you were watching a crowd from the '60s.

Toss up between SF and EOMS. But I think pound for pound their best songs are on LIB. I know that doesn't make sense but I think LIB isn't as rounded as an album. It feels more like a collection of great songs than a cohesive album. Plus I'm really not that fond of Country Honk (the fiddle is just too loud in the mix) - every other song on the album is a masterpiece.

I think the song is good, love the fact that it's not a typical arrangement. The dub break is fantastic and both it and the harmonies would make it a great live track. One that fits well into the first half of their sets - perhaps about 7 or 8 songs in. However I think it really comes to life so to speak when you watch the video. It's brilliant and makes a huge difference. Overall t

This sounds like it could be from the Exile period, but maybe that's just the rough recording. I keep on thinking I can hear bits of riffs from "Happy" and "Tumblin Dice" in it. Its mind boggling to think how many more albums they could have made.

“It’s always been the Stones’ thing to get up on stage and kick the crap out of everything. We had three years of that before we made it, and we were only just getting it together when we became famous. We still had plenty to do on stage and I think we still have... Little did he know that 'plenty to do on stage' would last for at least another 50 years!

Yes the release of numerous live albums whether to counter bootlegs, for posterity or any other reason has lessened their impact and appeal. In terms of ranking them imho its YaYa's and then the rest a long way behind.

After my grandfather died I used to visit and sometimes stay over at my grandmother's house when I was a teenager. My uncle had a copy of Big Hits High Tide and Green Grass. It was autumn 1982 and after reading an article in the newspaper about the Stones recent tour and how huge it was I decided to give it a listen. I was instantly hooked. I played that album over and over and luckily e
