Quoteillyad1960 I have heard that the Passaic NJ 1978 soundboard was stolen by a fan. Wished he had waited until SFM was complete.... he ripped it out of the tape that was running at the mixing desk mid-way through the last song and scarpered out of the theatre, apparently.

I enjoy some of Lanois' work but a Stones record in his style would sound horrific.

It does presumably include as yet unreleased material. Dylan's back catalogue was sold this year and his publishing for an even bigger amount in 2020. I guess the details vary from artist to artist, however the artist would still be able to have clauses on how the music is used and what gets released. I know that Springsteen has done this to prevent his music being misu

It is easier to figure where they will NOT play/tour at this point. IMHO they will not tour Russia, China, Africa (sorry S. Africa it aint happening), N. QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteMisterDDDD Gone from the band now more than half its existence. Wanted to leave while they were "on top".. Fair to say he miscalculated.. but I could see either side of that debate. In Bill's position or point of view they were on top - the biggest ever in his career. What happened after is moot because he wanted nothing to do with it, as he said in

QuoteNashvilleBlues Two double albums of all original material within 6 months of each other? How refreshing. It can be done. Proves some of the excuses (marketing, the tour cycle, etc.) other bands make for not releasing more often are b.s. When is the last time a band of their caliber released that much in such a short period? I know The Clash released a double album (London Calling) and a t

Quoteron091 The Stones, The Who, The Eagles, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Kiss and any number of others are all "oldies bands" with nothing new to play. Be glad they are still alive because modern music isn't anything to get excited about Bob Dylan's an 'oldies' act with nothing new to play? Is this the same Bob Dylan who's current sho

Quote24FPS I've been thinking more about Black and Blue, especially since watching the guy's (sorry I don't know his name) excellent documentaries on the making of it. (Along with other albums). There must be some incredible songs among all those auditions. Wayne Perkins was amazing, but too American looking. But there must be other songs he did. Beck. Mick Ronson, and the list goe

QuoteGasLightStreet I've said it before and here it goes again: The Stones have enough unfinished leftovers that are extremely interesting (and obviously some that are not at all) that, like The Beatles did with the anthology series, they could release unfinished tracks, especially from the 1972 GHS -1982 U sessions. Why the need to finish them... I dunno. Who wouldn't love an

Quotemariano Dirty sessions we're great, the outakes are really good ... yeah they're good fun. And most of what's good feature Keith on vocals. I doubt there'd be much demand for a deluxe reissue of the band's most slated album featuring a collection of bonus material where Mick Jagger is largely absent. The Stones dont finish enough original songs to justify expa

I think they're trying to 'make up' for the ills of the past. Where were they for the big 4, Some Girls or Tattoo You? Grammy's as always were a little late to the party. There was no rock category until 1980. The Stones woul

Quotechild-of-the-moon Article pbubished in the Jazz News magazine on July 11, 1962, one day before their very first gig. The only reason they're citing Mick as the band's founder was because when Blues Inc had a BBC session for 12th July, the Beeb wouldnt pay for three singers, so as he was the only one who didnt also play an instrument he agreed to opt out. As he had been also p

Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 I think the next show will be postponed as well. That will give 7 days. It is doubtful the doctors will give him the go ahead in 4 days. Most likely there is a protocol they have to follow. Isolation probably = no rehearsals. Even after 7 days, to expect any mere mortal, let alone a 78 year old man, to have the energy to run around a stage for two hours AND sing af

Come on, its funny stuff and well written. No one would spend money to go around the world and attend multiple shows if they didnt enjoy it despite its flaws. People shouldn't be so precious. I'd far rather read the 'warts and all' reviews than the blind adulation that every show is the best one ever and that everyone is 'on fire'.
