QuoteHairball Maybe an insider or personal friend of Bill has some significant info. and/or is able to bring up the subject with him for clarification. I'm sure he'd happily be ready and willing to dig deep in order to help set the record straight and solve the mystery, and might even reveal more "secrets" if given the opportunity. Have to say it's a bit surprising th

Its quite possible. As his numerous books show, he was very anal about this stuff. All I know is he recorded that it was played on that particular tour. If he's devoting two pages to memorabilia about a tour that lasted over two weeks, it would be a bit pointless and boring to list a setlist from all of them. The Stones had played almost 1,000 shows by that stage of their career (they pl

Quotecalipachangero What a soulless event! This is not music, its not original, its just another way of cashing in on memories from a generation who can't let go. Shameless and stupid from organizers and spectators as well. No different than having a museum exhibition, then. It actually IS original. Relax. Its not as if anyone paid money expecting to see the real thing and came o

QuoteDaveG Instead of putting all the time and planning and money into this project, why not spend 6 months rehearsing and go on one final world tour? They probably have more fans than ever. I’d rather see the senior citizen originals than avatars. So many other groups from that era are touring, why not ABBA? Pretty simple. They have had no desire to do so for 40 years (especially Agnetha) and

Dublin has become such a rip off city now when theres a major concert on, its ridiculous. The hoteliers are obviously tipped off in advance and double their prices (if you're lucky). Managed to get a half decent price on one hotel 3 days ago before they had got as clued in as the others. This morning I got GA tickets for the 1st and 3rd nights. Just about. Still have a year to find a pair

Quotehockenheim95 Sorry but number 24 in the first week doesn't sound good to me. In Germany number 5 isn't good either. Copacabana and Atlantic City both wenn number 2 in Germany. We shouldn't confuse our enthusiasm with anything succesfull from a economic point of view. For casual fans a newer show with the big hits is more attractive than this release with unknown songs. No, i

Quotedeardoctor Is the 2-show complete or did they play fingerprint file and happy as well, as I read somewhere? Anyone knows? Fingerprint File was only ever played in 1975. 'Happy' was not played at the 5/3/77 show (nor was any other song with Keith on lead vocal). There's no confirmation if he did so the first night but it's omission as a bonus track on this release would

Quotedeardoctortake1 But this looks like a 6 string strat type he used on Fingerprint file in 75-76, I thought the only song he played guitar on live until When The Whip Comes Down in 78 'Fingerprint File' was only ever performed in 1975. It was dropped in 1976. This new release features all the songs played on 5/3/77 (a friend of mine who I dont think posts here anymore was at this

Quotebam I’m listening on Qobuz. This is really a great release. Great show, and sounds great for a release from ‘77. Glad to have it. (Could really do without Hot Stuff, though.) Seriously? Its an absolute highlight for me. They've rarely sounded funkier. This elevates a track which on B&B was little more than a good groove into a monster.

'Rippers Rarities' show on WLSR (Sarasota). They're playing a certain live album released earlier today - all of it apart from one song, apparently (I wonder which it is :-) )

Rehearsal time was cut due to Keith's late arrival (I've read that they had originally planned to play five nights instead of two) - which makes this performance even more impressive

QuoteTestify I find that the Mocambo songs inserted in LYL sound better on this cd, even if there is not much difference, but LRR here seems a different version, but I prefer it to the one from LYL which I love anyway. Yes, Mentioned this earlier. 'Rooster' is a different performance from what I can tell, so the LYL version is 4/3/77. Still trying to figure out the sources for the

Quoteribbelchips Love this release! What a fantastic setlist and the boys are in great shape. I can understand why this was held back for so long though. Mick messes up here and there (clearly has problems with the falsetto in both Fool to Cry and Worried about you for example) being the perfectionist that he is.. Love You Live was heavily overdubbed so it would hardly have been an issue (and t

On first few listens, comparing the songs to LYL, would it be correct to say that 'Rooster' is a different performance (so, the LYL version is from 4/3/77) but the other 3 songs from that album are the same?

QuoteMathijs This is a truly, truly absolutely truly fantastic release! Spoilers now... The sound is utterly fantastic, much drier than the previously four released tracks. The playing is FANTASTIC, nobody ever played better than this, Preston and Ollie Brown turn it into a party, and Jagger has never sung any better than on this release (in fact so good on Cracking Up that it could have been

Quotebitusa2012 Apple Music. Tumbling Dice and Hot Stuff written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, not Jagger/Richards. Thats how it is on the original Love You Live LP too (or rather 'Richard/Jagger', as Keith didn't go back to his original surname until the following year)

Quoteslewan Dylan has just announced on fb that Dylan has something to announce on May 6th… wild speculation has already started on expecting rain => beside that they is #dylan60 – are they mocking the Stones' upcoming tour? No. It's now 60 years since Dylan released his first record.

QuoteVoodooLounge13 Crosseyed Heart is a magnificent album of growth I think. Much more diverse than its 2 predecessors. To me, it's similar to The Black Crowes Before The Frost in showing the growth one has made. I'm not comparing the albums to each other, just using BTF for the point of saying they grew tremendously as a group to get to that point, and I think Keef did the same on
