I couldn't agree more. It's rare to see a happy ending to stories such as Brian's, and in his case it is all the more satisfying, since we are being treated to new music and performances from one of the all time greats!

You got me thinking that it is "takes your chance" but I was reading the new Robert Greenfield book on the making of Exile on Main St. last night, and he used the phrase the way that I did. The person initiating this suit ought to be jailed for wasting the time of the legal system with this frivolity. As the great Iggy Pop said, "you pays yer money and you takes your choice."

In twenty five years of seeing show, it's only not been magical twice - my very first one (JFK Stadium, 1981 and Giants Stadium, 1994). That's a helluva lot of spell casting!

The sound was abominable and Keith f'ed up the first chord of the first song (Brown Sugar) incredibly badly. Nevertheless, I had a great time.

Jebb Beck is the best live guitarist I've ever seen, and I've seen all of the above, with the exception of MT.

Totally inaccurate. Stern is thrilled about the four million listeners that he brought with him (so far). His comments about that not being enough were that HE is so driven and insecure that he feels that he always has to accomplish more, sign up more, etc., etc. Even if you don't like Howard, satellite is so worth the piddling amount that it costs, in that the programming is more vari

I love the Dolls. It's interesting that they are capable of polarising people as much now as when they were in the heyday. MrEdWay's reaction to them is exactly the sort of negative reaction that they faced back then. But, I refuse to recognize the new "Dolls." It was a joke when Johansen and Sylvain continued the band in '76 and it's a joke now.

I had this conversation with someone who was an integral part of the late 1970s punk scene in New York. We agreed that it is pretty sad that all of that great music came about as a reaction to how corporate popular music had become, when it is so much worse now than ever before.

First of all, turn off the caps lock. Jeff Beck is the best guitarist that I personally have ever seen. He truly was playing every style of music, and doing so absolutely convincingly, with feeling and soul.

You need to decode them. Right now, they are either FLAC files or SHN files. You'll need to convert 'em to WAV, and you'll need a different program to do that depending on whether they are FLAC files or SHN files. Tell me what you have in the folder you downloaded, and I'll tell you how to proceed.

Even the most highly technically skilled musicians aren't worth a damn if they can't write a good song. The Stones have written so many great ones, and been such a huge influence on the music that came after them, and on the culture they played to, that to even put the two in the same sentence is an insult to the Stones.
