Quotecrumbling_mice wish they could lose chuck leavell, he is seriously messing up sp many songs. What he does on SFTD is just dreadful As for SFTD I agree 100%.

QuoteStonesBlake How about Gimme Shelter or BS? A little shot of energy to the same songs played the same way for 20+ years would be great. But don't dare drop CYHMK. How about LOVE IN VAIN?!! Come on Jagger, it is so obvious this needs to be the next change. 100%

QuoteSilver Dagger Quotewith sssoul QuoteSilver Dagger Love the song myself. Yes, it has sentimental lyrics but what's wrong with that? And it's a great solo. The song reprents the softer side of the Stones. They're not cock rocking misogynists all the time. I'm sorry to dis a track you love, Silver Dagger honey, but I wanted to clarify that it's not sentimentality or

That album revealed a different side of the Stones especially with the beautiful Me

The Stones have many great songs that they almost never have played live but I think Salt of the Earth is one of the very best of those songs, I have seen Mick and Axl Rose duet and I think it was great, what do you think about this song and why do you think that they haven't played it almost never? And Jigsaw Puzzle is also a very good song...

Quotecrumbling_mice That is truly breathtaking...I so hope they keep this in the set list. Mr Jagger, if you are reading this please use Mick Taylor more, it will go down as the tour to end all tours and it would be a fitting tribute to The Rolling Stones - The Greatest Rock n Roll band in the world. We don;t need special guests on guitars, just unleash Taylor and let it rock! 100%

Quotemarianna Maybe Mick Taylor earned his way to those extra two songs tonight. He's been doing an excellent job on MR. I'm also not sure he'll be doing this many songs on the tour again for a while, at least. It's the fourth show in the same market so they had to add some variety to the set list. Still, nice to see an actual Rolling Stone emeritus get the special guest sp

Tt seems a absolutetly amazing setlis, I hope the videos are good and Taylor has succeeded well and I hope that Mick Taylor will get more playtime now permanently, maybe they have planned from beginning to give him more playtime after a few shows, and somebody has speculated (or even known?) about this earlier in this forum. I don't even dream about more than 3 songs for Mick Taylor, I w

QuoteUGot2Rollme Quoterollingon I think that Keith and Ronnie could sit down on chairs and focus on just playing, they don't have to stand, for me it's enough that Jagger moves around I think Keith and Ronnie could play much better by sitting down. I liked it during No Security tour when Keith sat down for Silver. He focused more on playing and singing the song back then. Otherwise,

QuoteWindyHorses Quotestonehearted QuoteWuudy I just think it's weird that people here make all these weird assumption based on nothing. We can't have a clue about how they feel It's based on something--Jagger's own words. Quotebigfrankie Keith always does the solo on Bitch (even in 72), just like he did in the studio. I don't care either way about Grohl. He said a stupid thing about Keith in that documentary. If you want to haev him guset for one song, no big deal. The big deal is MT hanging around doing nothing. He steps up, makes MR the highlight of the show. Hangs around for a while more and maybe comes

QuoteBrstonesfan The 3 guitar approach just adds a lot to the tempo. That is the biggest problem for yrs IMO. The songs are simply played too slow . Yes, I agree with this. There should be more speed but maybe they are playing slower because it becomes more difficult to keep it together if the tempo is faster. Even now there are obvious difficulties in guitar playing. I personally like ver

Quotecrumbling_mice Yes, I was meaning the two guitar assault via Taylor and Keith. On reflection, I'm probably letting this Taylor thing sour my judgement of what has so far been a great tour. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that public pressure gets to Jagger and they let him on for 3 or 4 songs. Maybe it's in the contract that he plays more when they get to the UK, maybe not.

QuoteRocky Dijon I think Crumbling Mice's point is the studio recording is very much a two-guitar assault (Keith and Mr. Taylor) as it was when played live in 1972 and 1973. The live performances since then have never matched what was accomplished initially. From the STEEL WHEELS tour on, it's mainly been a song for the horns and little else. I have always thought Bitch is the best tr

Quotecrumbling_mice The thing that really irks me is that you would be hard pushed to find a Stones fan who would prefer to see Dave Grohl playing the solo on Bitch in place of Mick Taylor. Yet here we have a situation where Taylor (one of the world's best rock lead players) is standing in the wings watching Dave Grohl play on a song that he recorded with the band. Now if playing a show is g

Quotedrbryant I haven't read the entire thread, so I might have missed it, but the difference between this SFTD solo and others on the tour is pretty obvious to me - he's not walking around the ramp while he plays. Think about a guy nearing 70, playing the guitar while walking around a four foot wide circular ramp that slopes down and up at the ends, all the while having to maintai

He'll play and get all excited with Raitt, Fogerty, Perry, Mayer, Urban and Grohl, but not Keith.

Quotehbwriter And if you look at Jagger with Grohl - he seems to be feeling, "Thank god someone with crazy energy like me is up here - this is what a show is supposed to be" I agree that Grohl brought great energy to the show, it would be really great if this kind of energy level would exist throughout the show, his guitar playing was ok at first but it went too far in the end and did

Quotealimente Quotemtaylor Quoterollingon Quoteandrewt Quoteroby SFTD... 3:26, Keith tries an approach... No, thanks guy. Wow. I am stunned how neutered SFTD is. I haven't seen any really good and inspired p
