QuoteTravelinMan QuoteHMS Taylor almost dragged the Stones down like a stone... On albums GHS & IORR their rudeness seems to calm down due to his non-Stones-like-soloing on some songs. His style is so different from what is the original Stones-sound, he almost ruined the band soundwise. Occasionally he fits, when there was a certain flavor demanded, but mostly he does not fit. When they final

The Stones have insulted many women in their songs. I do not believe they are racist. His first child Karis was black. He was dating Marsha Hunt at the time. Well at least that's what I have read. Not that proves anything. But the Stones have always been heavily influenced by Black music and pay tribute to the artists and the music. All of them. I don't think Mick says "like a bla

Mick Taylor would be a great opening act. Maybe a short blues set.

After the 14 on Fire ahows we realize what a boost to the music MT would bring. I would think this really will be the last multi city tour for them. Im sure MT could use the money and the music really could use MT. The fans would appreciate it and would be a wonderful way to say goodbye if the music was on fire again. The tickets are very expensive amd most of us know what the set list will be wi

Thank you for sharing those articles OpenG. Very enlightening. It seems other guitarists immediately recognize his brilliance and that incredible tone. Kinda @#$%& up he was not invited to the retrospective until the day of. He is a part of their legacy he helped to build. It would be cool if he did a week in NYC doing Stones songs he made famous while they are in East rutherford. Somethi

Honestly the set list is predictable. Same songs. It I get tho. At this age it is hard to remember the songs and repetition of the same songs probably helps but the tickets are pretty expensive. Wouldn't it be a real treat to the fans to have Taylor make those same old songs sound fresh again? Don't get me wrong I am a old Stones fan. Philly 1969. Younger folks don't realize how in

I don't think its ever too late to improve and enhance your music. I think this maybe their last time on a multi city tour and opportunity to let the music become spectacular. He is a Stone and probably familiar with most songs. However there is a question if he is even interested in rejoining if they did want he him to tour. I'm sure at his age touring may not be as attractive. As we a

QuoteMisterDDDD Excellent post PhillyFAN, enlightening and makes me more likely to read the book. As mentioned before, a previous thread on this topic turned ugly and at times racist, which made me reluctant to post on this one. Your reality of not feeling "safe or welcomed" in certain places in this country, in 2018, may have played a critical part in Hunter's death in 1969.

I have not read the book. But from what I have read from interviews and reviews he brings a fresh new perspective by talking with Meredith Hunter's family. This book maybe addresses the centuries old racism against people of color in this country. There are places in this country that as a person of color I do not feel safe or welcomed. You are constantly prejudged simply because of the hue

Often times I am bored with little else to do except follow FB pages and other sites. There was talk of RW bad mouthing MT in a foreign magazine - something about him being a handful but put a guitar in his hands and he's fine. There was also a recording of KR and RW chatting about MT. RW said " His guitar playing intimidates me". I wish I could find the links to share. When I fin
