I did not think tney sounded bad at all.Different yes. As it would be. Charlie is gone. God bless him. During JJF Keith was grinning at Stanley and He was smiling back. Keith looked happy between Stanley and Darryl. MJ and KR approve of Stanley and trust him with their music. What we think really won't change anything. He was Charlie's choice to replace him on this tour. MT changed

Horrible news. Horrible reality our heroes are very much human and transitioning on. God bless Sarah Dash. Her silver throat will be missed.Being a Philly boy I met her casually. She was really gracious and kind.

Quotekovach QuoteCousinC QuoteKRiffhard QuoteCousinC Btw. Kenny would have been a better match to the Stones sound than Steve. But nobody's asking me. . lol ...thankfully! Ha, I knew that answer would come. But why? I find a new drummer/ Steve musically quite interesting. But both Daryl and Steve not the best choice for the Stones. (If this has to be done). Technically lo

RW always plays better in The Faces to my ears. He is his own man and plays songs he created. I think his playing is more creative and inspired with not having to play/copy MT's leads? RW's is a funky and gritty style and beautiful solo's on ballads.

QuoteTaylor1 Wasn’t Till the Next Goodbye the last song Taylor recorded during the IORR sessions I'm not sure Taylor1. I have read and heard TWFNO was MT's last recording on IORR.I could be wrong.

I agree. There would be still be 4 Stones on stage and not 3. MT would make the music magic again. But it would mever happen. I think it may have been the last time MT and CW recorded together.

Excellent article. Thanks for posting. I wonder if thats why punk music died. They were no longer angry rebelling youth.

I have always thought of Tumbling Dice as the quintessential Rolling Stones song for many reasons. It would make a great final song at thr end of the concert"keep on rolling". They did it once in Philly/ Upper Darby theater. I think of the 73 Brussels version as the best live TD. Never happen but one can dream.

Quote72stones Hi Everybody, Has Mick Taylor left any statements yet about the passing of Charlie?[/quot Has anyone offered condolences to MT? He knew CW for decades and probably adored CW. I am sure it was a shock and he is grieving. Everyone does not make public statememte about the death of a friend. At 72 he may not eben be familiar with email. Give him time.

It is heartbreaking that CW will not be there. Disturbing to realize the stones are all elderly and these things are going to happen unfortunately. Lets all say a prayer for his recovery.

I have been a fan since 1969 and I have aged along with the music. I was hoping for new original songs but I am happy they want to tour. I am sure the band is able to rock beacuse MJ would not go out if the band was not able to deliver. I think his ego would not allow him to get onstage and be embarrassed if the bsnd was not able to deliver. The band would want to keep the reputation as the gre

It was an amazing treasure. They were all so young. I would have preferred the entire performaces rather then chopping off performances but really happy the film was found and shared with the world..Sly and the family Stone were great.

Most fans would disagree about his playing. The audience was blown away. To my ears his playing only improved as the tour xontinued. If he was "totally unreleased" as you say imgine his playing if he was"totally rehearsed".

Some of us remember her music from high school. I was in love with her voice and song writing. She was a genious that never was fully realized. Beautiful soul inside and out.

It may be one of MT's uncredited compositions. It was around the time he left. However, I have no idea and speculating. It is an amazingly beautiful and melodic song that is so approppo at this stage in their career. It would take MT to make it magic. Probably why they don't attempt it.

That was amazing. Her voice and range are stil awesome. Gimme Shelter reflects the volatile timea in 1969 that are even more relevant in 2020. Those of us in the US are fearful of a dark march to facism. This song certainly relects the current state and timee we are in. The show was refreshing and different. It was like a Toulouse-Lautrec painting come to life.

I'll never forget his playing Gimme Shelter in Philly in 1972. It's on the Philadelphia Special boot. I remember he and Keith glancing at each knowingly. Their playing complimented each other proving they were the greatest rock n roll band at that time.Just pure hot rock n roll. I had hoped he would have been allowed to play on a few more songs he originally played on. But it's

I wish there were better recordings or videos from that period. Latter day fans really love the latter Stones but never saw them live when Mick Taylor was in The Stones. Bill Wyman either for that matter. I have never forgotten how great they were as a live band without all the bells, whistles and back up singers. Not that I mind them. Keith amd Mick Taylor were a dynamic duo that kicked ass and t

I saw then in Philadelphia at the long gone Spectrum arena and in 1972 at same venue. I don't think as a band they were never better musically live. Unbelievable guitars that complimented each other.Bill's throbbing bass. Slashing rhythm and searing leads. I wish everyone could have witnessed that version of the band. No other bamd could come close.

QuotePhillyFAN These opinions at just that. Keith, Mick, Charlie, and Ronnie obviously like how he plays bass for the Rolling Stones. If they did not trust him or his interpretations of their songs he would not have lasted for decades. Their opinions are the only ones that matter about who plays bass in their band!I miss Bill too. I miss Mick Taylor but I got over it. I have the choice not to li
