In 1972 the band played at Winterland. I would be very surprised if those shows were NOT recorded by BG, but nothing has yet surfaced. I am still hoping.....
Really, I hear you. They were recorded and filmed for close circuit TV and over the years Graham would occasionally screen them for Winterland audiences waiting for other shows to start. That wa Forum: Tell Me

Actually I was joking. But now I take back what I said and I respect the Osmond Bros a little more. They actually had a couple of good songs as I remember. Forum: Tell Me
The problem with rumored soundboards is that unless they have been at some point been documented i.e. released it is just a rumor and probably not credible. I am somewhat skeptical about Boston 69 for example or West Palm Beach. I just think that once something is out there it gets marketed and copied so fast that it is hard to imagine some people possess a recording and many others do not. Forum: Tell Me
I had never heard of Boston 1969 soundboards. Are these available on CD ?
Have heard of Detroit, Balt and Oakaland but all are partial shows. In fact Balt is just one song, love in vain. Or at least that is my understanding.
And which CD has the Philly 7/21 concert in its entirety ? All the CDs I have seen are a mish mash of all 3 philly shows.
Please advise if you know. Thanks Forum: Tell Me
If you paid me $14.99 I would not watch it again. It is a great era but a very bad film. But what do you expect when you ask someone from Hollywood to make a movie about the Stones. Forum: Tell Me
Mick:
Happy Birthday.
So for all the fans, who have made you who you are today, can you please just show us some gratitude and release all the music that has been so much a part of our lives over the past 50 years ?
Thank you Forum: Tell Me

Uptight with the Stones by Richard Elman
I agree, Richard Elman's book is very good. Have not read it in years but he was a serious journalist so the perspective and writing have a more literary feel. I still remember his description of the heat in Texas, very poetic.
STP is also very good. But that was Greenfield in his prime. What he writes now is not worth reading.

The first logos were classic, whoever designed them. Unfortunately the logo has been cheapened over the years by the countless variations on the countless tours. Forum: Tell Me
I think to appreciate CS Blues you need to watch it several times. One time is hardly enough. Once you understand that there really is no plot you come to appreciate it for what it is, a portrait of the Rolling Stones in America in 1972. I also think it really helps to have been around at that time. I was and half of the enjoyment of CS blues for me is just seeing the images of life in America Forum: Tell Me
Boy when you see these pics you really feel the march of time. It seems like only yesterday when our only news about the Stones came once a month via Creem and Circus. Albums back then cost about $ 3.00. Mick Taylor was a Stone. They were young and so were we. Senectus nos privat omnibus voluptatibus ! Forum: Tell Me
Picture quality is like an audience recorded bootleg record. Not really clear. Just fair I would say. But the idol mind logo is so irritating that you just can't watch the DVD for more than a few songs. The picture fades out and the logo fades in every 45 seconds I would say. Irritating beyond belief and a big disappointment. I thought it was not a very classy move by Idol Mind. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade
Don't waste your money on this DVD. It has a very irritating graphic that comes up in every song. The person who released this obviously does not want people to copy and sell it so the "Idol MInd" logo comes fades in and out in every song. Unwatchable in my opinion. I sold my copy after one viewing. Forum: Buy/Sell/Trade

Some of the people here giving CS Blues the thumbs down just don't get it IMHO. The movie is a masterpiece, a work of art by one of the 20th century's most famed photographers. It is not just about the Stones but about life in America in 1972. If you watch it as that it is brilliant. If you just watch it to see the Stones well, Forum: Tell Me
