QuoteChefGuevara I'll never take my daughter again. I took her when she was 6 to the licks tour, we where prepared with ear plugs but not for all the weed smoking around us. I think she got second hand munchies...not funny...I bought her a hotdog and later a pretzel. My wife was pissed. A couple of obeservations here: 1.) The last time I saw the Stones there was no pot smell at all. Ju

I was just looking at some closed auctions on EBAY and I see there was a 69 Ft. Collins DVD on the Tantura label. SEveral had been sold at about $ 60.00 a pop. It says it is a new recording. True ? The only Ft. Collins tape I have ever heard is a fair to average audience tape so I wonder if this is something new, or just the same old "remastered" version.

They have all been pretty bad since 75. After that tour the Stones really cleaned up and the kind of dark, counter-culture vibe all but dissappered from the shows. It just wasn't the same seeing them after that and I think we went more from habit than anything else. Good memories.

I have been watching L and G and CS blues for about 40 years now and am a little tired of the same old material. Is there anything new on here from the 72 tour that would want to make me go out and buy this ?

Anything new from 1972 on this DVD or the same old clips from CS Blues, Cavett and L and G ? I have been watching those same clips for years and am a little tired of them. Anywhere to watch it online for free ? There was a clip on youtube but it only went for a little over an hour. Would like to see the full movie before I buy it. Thanks

It is definitely worth reading. The best account of the Stones 1969 tour. Very well written.

Last time I got excited about the Stones was MSG 1981. Fantastic show. Sound was amazing. 89 Syracuse was absolutely awful and I have not been back since. I agree with what someone else said here, namely that it is an age factor. Septuagenarians playing Rock n Roll just does not seem right.

For a better experience of the Rolling Stones put Exile on Main St in the car stereo and drive down Telegraph Ave.

Quotemarianna Another option for people flying into SFO is hotels by the San Francisco airport. Cheaper than city center San Francisco hotels, and there is also BART at San Francisco airport to take you to the Oakland arena. It would be a good option if you have an early morning Monday flight out of that airport. You can also take BART to downtown SF if you want to do some sight-seeing before the

"decent" motels on University Ave ? You have to be kidding me. There is nothing of the sort there. It would ruin your trip. If you have the money to travel to the Bay Area to see the Stones you should be able to afford a decent hotel in SF. So that is the best advice: stay in SF, BART to the Coliseum and make a night of it. QuoteGRNRBITW QuoteChrisM QuotegeorgeV Stay in San Fr

I thought taking the safety was a no brainer. SAFETY: Worst case scenario. SF returns a punt into FG range with time left only for a kick and ties the game. Likely ? No becuase if BALT kicks from the 20 then SF will probably get possession well inside their own territory. PUNT: If they kick the ball away from the end zone. Worst case scenario SF blocks and recovers for a TD and w

Not very good play calling by either coach in this game. The one exeception ws John Harbaugh taking the safety to run the clock down. That was the smart move I was hoping he would make. John H. actually seemed to be going conservative as the Ravens lead dwindled there in the 3rd quarter. A lot of ill-timed running plays. But then he came back with a gutsy call on the 3 rd and 1 pass on one o

Best sound ever Madison Square Garden 1981. Unbelievable sound Worst sound ever Carrier Dome 1989. You literally could not tell what song they were playing. It was the worst concert I have ever been to and I have not been to a concert since.

I have been listening to Love you Live in the car recently and it struck me that musically the Stones were still very, very good in this period. And thinking more about this I had the thought that 75 was the last really great Stones tour. The Stones at the time were still very much a part of the anti-establishment/drug culture as were the crowds on that tour. By 1978, we had a newer, cleaner vers

I was thinking that it has been years since we have had any new bootleg recordings ( I mean new tapes not just re-mastered old ones) of these tours. I mean there just seems to be a real dearth of new material out there. Anyone heard anything on the proverbial grapevine about new shows/tapes ?

I was listening to the El Mocombo side on Love you Live tonight. Great set. Got me to thinking if there were any small club gigs between the Marquee (1971) and the El Mocombo ? I can't think of any. Nothing on the 72 or 75 tours.

Goats Head Soup is a great album except for Angie and Doo doo Heartbreaker. If they had left those two songs off the album and put on another two from It's only rock in roll it would have been a classic album. Its only Rock n Roll could also have been better album without, aint to proud to beg and fingerprint file.
