QuoteIrix Quotejahisnotdead I like the way you can't see the edges of the big screen. But from certain viewing angles you can clearly see that's big flat-screen because the Abbatars appear quite flat. Real 3D would be nice but requires double screen-resolution and 3D-glasses .... I very rarely see any of those tells in most of the footage, though. I'm sure standing close and

Logic and history suggest Depp will lose, since he lost in the UK with a lower legal standard. I'm predicting the jury will go in Depp's favor. Damages will probably be a dollar, but for Depp it would be a huge win. He's trying to preserve his career.

I've gotten to see more footage, and it does look like an amazing spectacle. It's like they can create a virtual set for each song and make the background stretch into infinity. It could be the next generation of theater design. I like the way you can't see the edges of the big screen. The figures themselves occasionally have a slight unreal quality to them on the close ups, as

Are we expecting them to take the stage around 10 pm? I hope everyone has a safe trip and a fantastic show tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to following it here and watching clips online.

QuoteGasLightStreet ABBA fans are suckers, huh. Wow. If Stones fans get three rare songs in a show, we all squeal "omg, greatest set list ever" and ignore that the rest of the show has been virtually the same since 1989. Who's the sucker?

Quotecalipachangero its just another way of cashing in on memories from a generation who can't let go. That's hilarious coming from a Rolling Stones fan. At least Abba could finish their new album.

QuoteDaveG Instead of putting all the time and planning and money into this project, why not spend 6 months rehearsing and go on one final world tour? They probably have more fans than ever. I’d rather see the senior citizen originals than avatars. So many other groups from that era are touring, why not ABBA? I believe the stress of touring is what made them quit in the first place. These versi

In an interview the choreographer of Voyage implied that ABBA motion captured their entire catalog during their five weeks of motion capture work. It certainly seems they did more songs than are currently in the show.

It looks truly fascinating. The theater looks very cool outside at night. The limited footage of the performance looks really good too. I'm guessing the lights in the performance video and the theater itself are synced so the theater really appears much larger than it is, also selling the illusion of 3D people on the stage. I'd go see it. I'll also be curious as to the setlist.

If Mick had his way all the time, surely "England Lost" and "Gotta Get A Grip" would have been Stones songs.

Would "Sweet Virginia" be country music, then? I would call "Hip Shake" blues. Robert Johnson's "They're Red Hot" I would also call a blues song though it's on the edge of the definition of a blues song, who on the planet would argue that Johnson was not one of the defining musicians of the genre?

Emotional Rescue is my favorite Stones album, but I admit I skip a few tracks. Voodoo Lounge and Undercover I can listen to straight through, so I give those two the most spins. I also like the Exile bonus disc and listen to that more often than Exile. I used to make mix cassette tapes of the albums and just leave out the songs I didn't like.

I'm watching it now. It's true, it is very much a template for the Steel Wheels tour. I don't necessarily think that's such a bad thing.

I thought it was cool and that it must be a huge treat for the audience. Who would have imagined going to a concert today and hearing Paul McCartney singing along with John Lennon?

QuoteGasLightStreet Vince Neil!? Vince isn't quite an 80's icon, is he? I remember Motley Crue being as big as any band of the 80's. *shrug* Either way, the reference does seem to be Jon Bon Jovi, so I stand corrected. But Neil is pretty epically terrible now; look up some of the recent versions of Kickstart My Heart for some serious vocal sadness.

QuoteGasLightStreet Who is "until we’re jolted awake to the fact that they cannot, as with the recent instance of videos being circulated of a certain ’80s icon who is not coming within a prayer of hitting the notes on his band’s most enduring hit anymore." about? Apparently I missed that one. Though the phrasing seems to hint Jon Bon Jovi, the videos that I've seen circulated re

QuoteCaptainCorella Quotejahisnotdead Paul stays in the house where George died? That's wild. Turn it round. George was dying and Paul helped ease his pain by letting him spend his final days in one of his (Paul's) houses. A loving gesture to a dear friend. Whew. That makes it a lot less creepy.
