I still regard Mick's conversation with Elton John about Madonna in "Being Mick" as one of the most revealing when it comes to set lists. When there's something unfamiliar being played, the energy level of the audience drops. It's just a fact. And when the Stones play a stadium, they want people jazzed up to the max from beginning to end. So the setlist has mostly settled

Quotetreaclefingers See a fair bit of love for this movie...what exactly is 'thrilling' about it? I've been a fan for decades but honestly didn't even consider watching this in the theatre. WHAT ABOUT IT IS SO FAB? Did you read anything posted here about it? When you're done seeing it, you feel like you've gotten an Elvis experience. It's a good movie that

QuoteJustin Thanks for your thoughts. Glad to see you enjoyed it and are thinking of seeing it again. Out of curiosity how did you feel the movie handled the more controversial issues that surrounds Presley? In the last few months there has been a renewed conversation about Presley and his 'debt' to the culture he left behind. It's a complex thing but feel Elvis' intent an

Some other band is sure to follow if ABBA's show has legs. I've read speculation that Queen would probably do something like that. I gather they do a song with a Freddie Mercury hologram already. Jimmy Page said Led Zeppelin were approached about doing something like the ABBA show a few years back. I don't know how likely it would be for the Stones to actually do motion capture wor

I saw "Elvis." I'm thinking of seeing it again next week and will definitely purchase it as soon as it comes out on Blu Ray. As you can probably guess, I liked it a lot. It wasn't nearly as anachronistic as "Moulin Rouge!" which was kind of what I was expecting. I thought the stylization was absorbing. I'm not usually a fan of fast edits, but it worked for me in

And according to Mary McCartney's Instagram post, last night's show was #500 with Paul's current band. What a run, and what a show to mark the occasion.

Quotebye bye johnny Paul McCartney at Glastonbury 2022 review: Springsteen, Grohl and a euphoric trip through time Alexis Petridis Sun 26 Jun 2022 Harry Durrant/Getty Images Great picture. Abe Laboriel is so cool. Springsteen always looks like he's having a blast. It's funny to me that Grohl is one of the best rock drummers of his generation and now makes his livin

I thought I was fairly familiar with Paul's catalog, but I've never heard of "Out of College." C

Quotecrawdaddy Paul is playing 5pm today at Cheese and Grain venue in Frome, near Glastonbury, and Saturday headlining Pyramid Stage. Excellent, thank you, I'm off by a full day! I look forward to hearing about today's show and curious if he's using the gig to work out any new additions to the setlist for Glastonbury. I also hope that the BBC feed of the Saturday show is somehow

The last I remember about it was the general consensus that's all we're going to get from this particular leak. The rumored three "volumes" were the three discs worth of music that we got. I'd love to be wrong. I'm so desperate for new Stones music that I'll take unfinished demos.

Happy 80th birthday to Paul McCartney today. Along with the Rolling Stones and the Ramones (who got their name from him), McCartney's solo work has given me the most musical pleasure over my lifetime. I'm grateful for his music. It's enriched my time on this earth.

That's unexpected and sad news. I sure do wish Mick a speedy recovery and that no one else in the band or crew has tested positive. I'm sorry to all the fans who travelled to the show. It must be very frustrating.

I like the stage. I'm sorry so many people don't. It's not Steel Wheels or Urban Jungle, but it's a nice stage with some character. I remember seeing them in Atlanta and there was no set dressing beyond a backdrop painting of an audience. So this stage is a lot better compared to that. Anyway, I like the design except for that one little swoop on the far right of the tongue

It seems to me that Mick was putting extra special effort into the vocals during Ruby Tuesday. Does anyone agree or am I off base? It felt like he was doing stuff rehearsed with a vocal coach. I'm not knocking it at all. It was good singing. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed it or if my imagination is running away with me.
