They is one in the works I believe. I was contacted over a year ago by someone wanting to put one together. I don't know how far they are right now. Their was a great tribute book on Stu. Published by Genesis Book by Will Nash. It is/was very expensive, something like $800.00 US. There is rare footage of Stu playing bass with the Rolling Stones for the dress rehearsal on the Ed Sullivan Sh

In the early 70's Stu asked me if I could put a video tape (actually a 16 MM film reel) together of some of his favorite artist. Among the artist I put together for Stu were Art Blakey , Bill Evans, Art Tatum, Eubie Blake, Big Joe Turner and bunch more. He also liked Charlie Parker. The Stu that I knew was a wonderful, polite man who really seemed to dislike the fame that followed the othe

I also attended the 100 Club tribute gig for Stu..and will also state Paul McCartney was "NOT" there, only about 150 people at most attended the show..So seeing if Paul was there or not was not very hard.. As to whether it was recorded or not, well, all I will say is the band did not record the gig.. Loved the set list, it will never happen like that again..All the songs could have been

Truly sad news, Freddy was a great friend a huge Stones fan and even greater human being. Freddy will be missed by all that knew him. Yes, his family home grown hot sauces are the best. RIP Freddy. Glad I got to know you and call you a friend. You are probably hanging with Brian & Stu right now

NME Poll winners show in 1966 the Rolling Stones performed Paint It Black, Play With Fire & Satisfaction. This show was televised except for the Rolling Stones & Beatles performances. Seems the BBC was using the Stones & Beatles as selling points from their previous appearances on the NME shows to make money (not sure exactly how, I can't recall right now). So the Stones & B

Yes,this is true. Dick Taylor told me this when we spoke years ago. Also when I spoke with Keith Richards he confirmed Mick missing a gig. The date is not 100%, but very close if it is off. As you know Brian had wanted Paul Jones to be the singer in the Stones. When the Stones had the demo tape rejected because they sounded "to colored". Jones told the guy we can replace the singer. S

Hi Worst... Yes,you are correct Colin Golding played the bass..I should not post at 4 AM any more. I was thinking of the less known people who played with the Stones in 62 at the time and but was still on the drummer mode..DUH! Thanks for the correction. BTW..Golding is in my book as the bass player and not a drummer.. I have never heard of a Steve Holmes as a drummer? I think you might have

First, hello, I want say I enjoyed your book very much. I have been searching for recordings and photo of the Rolling Stones between July 1962 and December 1962 for 48 years. I have only found a couple recordings and only one photo from Dec.62 but not of the whole band (pre Wyman & Watts)live on stage. My question is ..it is my understanding you owned a reel to reel tape recorder when

I interviewed him many years ago. I also spoke with Mick Avory. Chapman was rehearsing with the band but disappeared. So the band panic and tried to find another drummer quickly.. So they cont

Before I left the voting committee of the RnRHOF I had been pushing for Ed Sullivan to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame but it fell to deaf ears. Ed had a show that reach many millions of viewers and had artist like Bo Diddly,Sam Cooke,Jackie Wilson etc. on in the 50's. These artist really weren't getting any national exposure on TV back then. Yes, Ed at first did not want

IMHO The Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame has changed drastically. I was there at the start of RNRHOF. It was my idea to show videos at the induction ceremonies at the Waldorf Astoria. I did the very first video presentation for them. I was also on the nomination committee and voted for who should get in. I voted for about 5 or 6 years then stopped. I was "verbally" promised I could do th

Thanks Deltics; Thanks for the correction..I meant ITV ....but out of habit and being from the U.S.A. I just say BBC TV.A habit I should stop doing.considering how many different TV shows I have from the U.K. "RSG,Thank Your Lucky Stars,Top of he Pops, Granada TV Specials" etc.. etc. I knew about Jonathan Rollands as producer and Glyn as engineer, but in my interview with Glyn

Hello Deltics; Where did you get/find this contract/agreement?This contract is a great find. I am wondering if this is real? A couple reasons...1. Brian Jones signature looks odd (Just my opinion). 2. The Rice Krispies song was recorded in 1963*? 3.The Rice Krispies commercial airing premiered on BBC TV on January 1st 1964 (Probably version #1... The animated version) Version #2... was th

Brian Jones dream of forming a R & N band comes true. Little did he know what effect these 6 band members (well 4 of the 6) would have on the music world 54 years later. I wonder if anyone except Brian Jones who was at the Marquee Club that night knew of the potential greatness they were seeing.

I don't know where this rumor that Paul McCartney filmed the 100 Club show came from 1986. I attended this show and I don't even recall seeing Paul there.. I saw no one in the audience filming or taping the show (and I was looking!!). It was a small gathering and I would have seen a camera or tape recording happening and there was none. I was going to tape it myself but decided not t

This was an important L.P. to me, being from America and being naive back in 1965/66 when I saw this L.P. from a friend from Germany. I thought maybe each country released Stones L.P. with a song I didn't have. So I then started to look for L.P.'s from every country around the world hoping to find more and more songs I didn't have. I soon found out that was not the story but I did

QuoteDGA35 QuoteDeltics Quotewith sssoul It is very sweet ... but they had no phone in that flat, so the LP they got their name from must have been on the floor of the phone box that Brian made the call from :E Not only is it highly unlikely that there was a phone there, but the band was christened before they moved into Edith Grove anyway. They played the first gig at the Marquee on July 12

I believe the 62-72 era of the band waa the best. Yes;.. after these years recordings got more technical (24 track + /Cd's / sacd's / etc). But the songs the band recorded in the 60's and early 70's are the foundation of this band. Yes, there are some great songs by the band in the 80's till the present. But as a person who is a fan and lived through all the decades of t

QuoteRocky Dijon Mick has said he and Mick Taylor were not on the backing track that was cut in 1971. That's why they're the two who entered the studio in January 2010 to complete the track. Mind you, they do lie to us... I have an early version of Sophia Loren (1971) and the vocals are different then what was released later. I will try and dig it up and post the original lyrics
