Hopefully, Canada can get with it. Meanwhile, in the U.S., all the NFL Football stadiums are back to full capacity:

Thanks for that video link. Motörhead’s and Overkill and Bomber records are all-time classic genre-defining New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Loved them as a kid, and still love them now.

I’ve attended a couple of Jazzfests (2017 & 2019) and would say if you’re going for the headliners, you are missing the point. Much of the best action happens on the smaller stages or in the Gospel, Blues and Jazz tents. Headliners, playing a shorter festival set on the big stages can be hit or miss. There are also lots of nationally touring and local acts playing at night. The festiv

JJ. Cale’s original version of “Cocaine” uses the line “sh*t don’t lie”. Eric Clapton changed it to “she don’t lie” and got the hit record.

I doubt this one made it past the censors, but it reputedly got them banned from many Country Radio stations in Nashville: Commander Cody & The Lost Planet Airmen “Everybody’s Doin’ It Now” The original 1937 version: The Modern Mountaineers featuring Smoky Wood “Everybody’s Truckin’”

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard the title track to Some Girls on the radio, but that would be a hard one for the censors to miss. The Jefferson Airplane slipped the “up against the wall, mothereffers” past the censors in 1969 when they released “We Can Be Together on their “Volunteers” LP. I’ve heard the uncensored versions of The Who’s “Who Are You” and Steve Miller’s version of Paul Pen

I wonder if any of the Stones will do a sit-in somewhere before they all hit the stage together again? Maybe just to kick the tires and shake off any rust.

Got to hang out with the NRBQ guys one night in the mid-80’s when I was helping loading band’s equipment and covering back door security at a place called The Mineshaft, in Charlottesville, Virginia. I remember that all of them were easy to work with. Terry and Al maybe a

I’m guessing everyone on stage and the staff working the show were fully vaccinated. What about the audience Elmo? Did they make you all show proof of vaccine? Were people masked?

Major League Baseball’s Toronto Blue Jays just extended their temporary residence in Buffalo through July 21, so we shouldn’t expect an open border until late July, at best.

Ronnie’s first effort with the band, “Hey Negrita”. From Wikipedia: "Hey Negrita" Credited to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Ron Wood apparently wrote the song's main riff, a piece of music he took with him to Munich's Musicland Studios where he and other guitarists were auditioning for the second guitarist slot left open after the departure of Mick Taylor.[1] For hi

He was the Guest of Honor and speaker at my Eagle Scout Court of Honor in 1982. I got to shake his hand, and still have his autograph. I appreciate his accomplishments more now than I did as a distracted teen. Still a rather small group of humans who have orbited the moon. Hard to imagine there are plans being made for humans to go to Mars and back. Mr. Collins shares the legacy of thos

I’m not surprised that Kenny Wayne Shepherd would own a replica General Lee car. It’s an iconic vehicle from a certain era of pop culture, and was never associated with racist connotations during The Dukes Of Hazzard series’ tenure. The show was built around many cultural archetypes and stereotypes, like other shows set in the South (Green Acres, Miami Vice are two), and like a lot of other

Supposedly, the Stones barred it’s wide distribution because the were worried that the images of rampant sex and drug use would lead to them being banned from performing in the U.S. Can’t see that as even a remote possibility anymore. Time to end the censorship and officially release it as the artifact of a long ago, cherished time that it is.

I have noticed more of the over-65 crowd shopping in my store the last two weekends, many of them long-time regulars, unseen for the better part of a year. I’m guessing they all got vaccinated. Shots every 2 years? Geez Louise, there’s got to be a better cure than that.

It’s Sill, not “Still”. I learned about her when I worked at Amoeba’s Hollywood store. As I recall, her records didn’t sell and she became a dental technician. One of those artists who’s records are scarcer as commercial copies than as promo copies because she sold so poorly.

I was nearly seven years old when it hit the charts, and I have positive memories from that time of it as a song it was okay to turn up in the car when my mom was driving. It’s his best played song. The rest of what I’ve heard was lightly arranged, somewhat treacly Folk-Pop.

Bet a lot of these old places mentioned sold nitrous oxide (tNO2). In the early 80s, I went to a different Penguin Feather location just south of Alexandria, Virginia on Route 1 in Hybla Valley, and they were selling both boots and NO2. They sold legit records too, and pipes, and posters. Classic old “Head Shops”. You still see boots regularly on the vintage market, just not so many new
