I agree with LongBeachArena72 - I wish the Stones could put together another "anthem" - huge song. It's been a long time since 1981 and Start Me Up. And don't fool yourself - the Stones would love it too. They'd love a huge smash. Doom and Gloom...please. It's a fine song but not even in the realm of classic Stones. But with today's radio formatting even i

A shame that Keiths album won't debut top 10 in the States, though I'm underwhelmed by the quality of the album. To me it's a solid 2.5 stars out of 5. Considering how long it's been since a Stones album or Keith solo album, he's sure had plenty of time to put together an album. The album is fine, but nothing spectacular. I think there is only one "classic"

Goats Head Soup - I was 10 and bought the album and Angie single when it first came out. Before that had been listening to Sticky Fingers and Hot Rocks which my sister owned.

Obviously love Sticky Fingers and Exile. Let It Bleeds pretty cool. And I always loved the bathroom Beggars Banquet. I love It's Only Rock 'n' Roll - think its an awesome painting. I don't mind Goats Head Soup. I guess surprisingly compared to others, but I kind of like Undercover's cover. Unfortunately the Stones have been on a roll of awful covers ever since Under

I really liked Love Is Strong - but wasn't commercial sounding in that I never thought it had big hit potential. (Mixed Emotions I thought was just lame - one of the weakest tracks on Steel Wheels). Thought Love Is Strong was a strange choice for an opening single, even though I really liked the song.

Great album for "true" Rolling Stones fans. Dark, moody and not overly commercial. Album flows really well. Too Much Blood is a lost classic to me and their best video as well. Keith always trashed Undercover of the Night, but also a great uncommercial Stones single (as was Love Is Strong from Voodoo Lounge).

I agree - Let's Work single handedly buried the album. I don't think anyone (radio etc) gave the album a shot after hearing Let's Work. I''m not a fan of Sweet Thing either and I was worried that song would have a similar effect on Wandering Spirit

Its funny but in the 70's, John Bonham was consistently listed on worst rock drummer's lists which apparently at the time upset him greatly.....

That's why I wish the Stones would release a new album and get a #1 album again in the US - if the current #1 sold 42,000 copies and hit #1, if the Stones timed a new release correctly, that can finally get another #1 album in the States which would be a great "ego" boost for the Stones and their fans. Nice way to go out....

thanks GeorgeLicks for the sales comparison. Surprising to me, but so nice to see The Stones actually outselling Led Zep right now on the recent reissues. I really like Led Zeppelin but nothing like The Stones. It's always been a bit disheartening to me here in the States where Led Zep were and I suspect still are way more popular than the Stones.

Hi GeorgeLicks, Kind of off-topic but others have requested as well. Would love to see a sales comparison between the Stones reissues (Exile, Some Girls, Sticky Fingers) vs the recent Led Zeppelin reissues.

Out of Control live is an absolute monster classic - an epic in the vein of Midnight Rambler - in fact a modern day Midnight Rambler for The Stones. a true classic that can stand with their best work ever

All the more reason for the Stones to release a new album, if timed right even relatively small sales may get them a #1 album. They'll not admit it, but the Stones (KEITH as well as Mick) would love it, as would I. Great way to go out with a final #1 album in the States. Dylan's had a bunch in recent years, now James Taylor.....I want The Stones!

I want the Stones to release new music also because I want them to have another #1 album in the USA. Damn if James Taylor can do it, why can't The Stones have another #1 - been since 1981 -

It's good, but overrated I think. Actually the weakest song on Side 2 of TY. Tops, No use in Crying and Waiting on a Friend are in another league compared to it.

Pound for pound - Some Girls is an incredibly great Stones album. song after song is great with the exception of "Lies" which is still a fun little punk rocker. Tattoo You is also great but more spotty with some peaks and valleys - Black Limousine is fine but pedestrian, as is Neighbours. Side two of TY is a great listen and unique in the Stones cannon (with the exception of Exile si

Thought it was OK - but B2B suffered I thought from the lack of a great ballad whereas Voodoo had Out of Tears (and Blinded by Rainbows) and Steel Wheels had the awesome Almost Hear You Sigh (and Blinded by Love and Slipping Away)

Not to start a debate on who's bigger or better - but out of curiousity - how did the sales of the reissued Exile, Some Girls and now Sticky Fingers compare to the reissued Led Zeppelin 2-CD's compare? Wonder if Georgelicks has the sales numbers?
